Thanks everyone for the kind words and thank you to all who have helped with this project as it would not have been possible without you! The car still has a ways to go. I should be getting a body soon, need to figure out the servo, find the Novak receiver, make a front belt guide, and source some other decals.

Thanks,

Todd

Look fantastic Vintage. Great job. This has to be one of my favorite builds on the board.

The mystery of the body post is solved. Eustace made them out of Delrin. Not completely sure if MIP ever sold them, but he says they are the MIP Delrin body posts.

** UPDATE**

I rewired the Novak speedo and installed it. I also removed the "MIP" and the "CVD" decals from the bulkhead as they were not there in the magazine photos. And lastly, I removed the 2 yellow MIP decals from the side of the chassis and installed the correct 3 smaller MIP decals. That's it for now.

Great work! It's like you reached into the magazine yanked the car right out of the picture.

Your enthusiasm to track all the info down and restore this car makes it an epic thread.

I've just caught up with this thread... reading through the last ten or so pages from when I last looked here. All I can say is that this is the single most exciting & interesting thread on this board! Your enthusiasm & desire to replicate every detail, which comes across in your posts reminds me of the emotions I had when I started my Yokomo 'Masami' build... except of course where the possible history of my car (& its connection from the same World's meeting) is all 'conjecture' & rumour - there is no denying that this is the actual car that we saw in the magazine race reports, which of course is so-so cool!! 8)

**UPDATE**

Thomas Hightower has accepted my friend request on Facebook after what, 3 months? Hopefully I can get some more history on the car from him? We will see.

Oh, and amazingly enough, he only lives minutes from me!
