FPV Willamette Falls Oregon

Post by GoMachV »

My friend did some FPV flying around Willamette Falls today, pretty cool perspective that most of us locals would never see let alone those not familiar with the area. This is the largest natural waterfall in the Pacific NW and is horseshoe shaped making it rather unique. Anyway, here is one of his videos:

That's cool! Pretty daring flying it out over the water like that, too. I guess all this dead-calm weather we've been having is perfect for flying, though. Thanks for sharing!

He got one of em stuck in a tree for about a week once. He said he was pretty close to some power lines at a couple points but I didn't see em lol

Don't shoot down all the drones, just the government ones ok guys!

Hell of a flight, smooth and great video quality. How does he like the glasses? What model are they?

It sure does give you a different point of view. You ever go boating or fishing there?

I'm not much of a boating person but I drive by it a lot lol. I'll ask about the glasses. He said he is new to the gopro black camera and only had it in 720, so the next videos will be better!

Very cool, 1080 will be that much better.

Get yourself a boat and try it one day, gives you a reason to pack a lunch and head out from the day. make a trip of it and have fun at the same time.

Just a little update as I have had a few people ask...

Flight time is about 8 minutes, he brings it in at around 6 for safety. Range of the machine is a little less than that of the FPV lol.

The quad is a Blade QX350, they run about $470 rtf
The video cam is a GoPro black around $400ish
The FPV as mentioned above is a fat shark teleporter from hobby king $250ish
