Here is my RC10T that I had at my parents house for the last 20 years. Its a 1993 RC10T Team truck. I had them bring it to me a few months ago and have been working on getting it running since. Originally I thought the Nova 410 M5 speed control was shot after I ran it through water so many years ago. However, after doing some trouble shooting the last few weeks I found the receiver's throttle channel is the problem, the speed control works fine. All it needs it a new receiver, but I'm buying new radio instead.
All parts are pretty much original except for things replaced after breaking. The paint job is my original too, not great but I rather keep it this way for preservation. I also haven't rebuild it yet, which you can probably tell from the grunginess, Ill see how it runs and see what I want to do with it.
My Original RC10T Team
Re: My Original RC10T Team
For electronics my old Magnum Junior wouldn't cut it in Japan. For one, the 75Mhz frequency is illegal here and two, the throttle channel of the receiver was blown. I found buying a new FP-R112JE receiver would not be cheap after shipping from US. Instead I picked up a new Futaba 3PL locally from Super Rajikon which works great.
I ran my original 410 M5 for about 2 weeks, but since there is no voltage monitoring I never felt comfortable with the Lipo in there.
Since the Reedy Sonic G is an awesome motor and mine is practically new (only ran about 3 times before 2013) I don't want to switch to brushless just yet.
I ordered a Tekin FX which is one of the few SC's that supports lipos and brushed motors down to 10T. My Reedy Sonic G is an 11T so its able to deliver the power of the Orion Rocketsport 4200mah battery. I am using 12 gauge wire which may be a bit of overkill for this.
