What would be nice is if the transmission, motor mount, suspension mounts, shock tower, and anything else in that back area was all integrated into eachother, so to switch from rear to mid, you would only need to remove 4 screws on the bottom of the chassis and rotate the entire assembly. You would have to reverse the rear suspension toe, if any though.

Yeah, my guess is both too. I hope it comes with a slick body and not one of these horrific cab forward stinkbug atrocities.

The problem with that is that most mid motor setups run an extra idler gear. Although 3-gear with a mid motor can be useful on super high-bite tracks, I don't expect AE to really push the envelope with this.

I dont understand how an extra idler can make a difference like that. Does it have to do with the amount of drivetrain resistance, or maybe the amount of play in the gear train? That makes nonsense to me...

Maybe they are worried about the rotation of the motor for inertia purposes?
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Exactly. I think with the 3 gear setup w/ mid motor the motor's inertia "fights" the normal weight transfer upon acceleration.

There is a Top Secret picture on Team Assocaited's website. It has the same backdrop used for the RC10B4 when it was released. COuld it really be a B5?

Thats what it would seem to be. I'm really hoping this is a game changer for AE and advances the hobby again

This is starting to look like a new car and not just more updates. That front shock tower is a new design for AE.

Well, there it is. I hope someone makes a more attractive body for it.
