gran turismo 6
anybody play the gran turismo playstation games?
i got gt6 over the weekend and is pretty amazing, but really its what 5 should have been in the first place.
i use a playseat with a logitech g27 wheel. the setup works pretty good but for the price of the playseat i expected a hell of alot better quality.

Rocking GT6 now see you all in a month or two!
I just bought the G27 but can"t find a comfortable way to mount it, wish I had a driver seat! So now just using the remote!
Harder to earn money, psn wants you to pay cash for credits to buy all the cool cars and hopups!

Re: gran turismo 6
theres some really nice how-tos on making a sim-seat with pcv, some particle board, and a cheap racing seat. knowing what i do now with the quality of the playseat, i wouldnt hesitate to build one out of pvc.
the playseat is nice, but it flexes and just isnt built near good enough to pay more than maybe 150 bucks for. maybe...
and i fully admit to being lame and spending 40 bucks for 7,500,000 credits. what i really wish was that the credits earned in gt5 just transferred over, but i guess then pd & sony wouldnt have a reason to charge people additional money for credits.

I'm still playing GT5. It's $10 now compared to the $60 I paid when I pre-ordered it. I'll wait a few months to get GT6 when it drops to $30 or less.
I can't believe it wasn't released for the PS4.

Re: gran turismo 6
I'm sure I will end up with GT6 soon enough, tis the season I cannot buy anything for myself
--outside of some RC stuff I "need" asap.
If they up the DLC for more cash, it will only disappoint me more. I wont pay real $ for "fake" $, but that is just me, I will run the same race over 100 times to build up the credit needed to get the next thing I want. I am stubborn like that. I love the GT series, have every one of them.

Gt5 (gt4.1) left a bad taste for me right click copy and pasting cars from one game to the next doesn't take years to do. Hopefully GT6 is much better. I just can't pay full price for a game using the same Castrol Supra as GT1. I use a older Logitech wheel and pedals from my PS2. Let me know what's different .

Re: gran turismo 6
gt6 is really what 5 should have been. im happy to have it but if gt5 pissed you off than gt6 probably will too. im a huge fan so i dont mind paying 60 bucks, but i can totally see other peoples dissappointment in paying a premium for something that just feels like a debugged version of a previous release.
its pretty much the same looking game just alot better (imo) physics and sound design. and imo they probably could have just made it a dlc update for gt5, but im not a techy programmer type so i dont know if that was even possible.
for me it feels like the cars now have 4 seperate corners in regards to weight transfer, and not just front/back & side/side, if that makes any sense.
one thing that is possible now is jumping and barrel-rolling like a madman. i was always kinda upset with previous versions that i could hit a big jump looking object at 200 mph and the car wouldnt get air.

Re: gran turismo 6
I have always been a huge GT fan. That being said, I do agree that there is a lot of area's where the game could be a lot better, and for the first time ever I am actually on the fence about getting the new one.
I definitely am not a fan of how they are making games more towards dlc/online. I think they already took this too farwith 5, if 6 is worse... I don't know.... might be time to jump ship, F5 looks pretty bad-ass from what I have seen so far.

Re: gran turismo 6
i have a couple work buddies i race online with, but im not a fan of racing strangers. its just not fun for me. you either get guys who are too good, or kids who run the track backwards or whatever.
one of the most fun racing games ive played is grid. if i could have the cool stuff about grid such as body damage and highly customizable cars with the physics and detail of the gran turismo games... well that would be awesome.
i played ALOT of grid online with my friends. it was awesome to eventually be racing a car with no front clip and excessive body damage.

Re: gran turismo 6
I'm still on the sticks. Would love to have a wheel/seat setup, but don't have room for that in my place.
No difference in scoring or anything on the drifting?

I was just doing some reading on gtplanet, there is a glitch you can do at the beginning to get 20 million free credits. There's a video on YouTube.
