Restoration/build stand

Post by Charlie don't surf »

When I built my first AE factory powdercoated chassis, I accidentaly scratched the bottom finish slightly (mostly since it was super glossy) from some sand granuals or a stuck e-clip in my pit towel. I wasn't real excited by that, plus its easy to slip when building and such, so I nabbed some multi-layer packing foam, and custom trimmed a build stand, that let's the suspension move freely, and I can build it without worry! Don't know if anyone else does anything like this?

I use a fresh one, every time. But even a loose 4/40 screw can do it!

Very interesting indeed... Have I ever shipped anything to you on Ebay?? That's very similar looking to a very unique packaging foam custom made for our company, ours start out looking like this:

PM me, I'm curious where you got that?

Some nefarious persons alleviated my F-250 of it's 18,000# hogs-head receiver/sway/leveling hitch (65# easy), forcing me to buy another assembly ($798)...the packing material isolated the various parts of the assembly in it's container.

I'd love to have more though
