CNC router kit. Opinions wanted!

Post by uniquenamehere »

I'm looking online for CNC router kits? I'm looking at this site:

http://cncmachinekits.com/V5-24S-CNC-Kit-V5-24S.htm

Anyone have recommendations or feedback on these? Are these good for cutting fiberglass/carbon fiber?

I feel like this would be a good gateway into something more serious...

that would probably be able to cut 1/8" or so fiberglass and carbon fiber, and most other plastics, with the right cutter bits. You might have issues with rigidity and accuracy, but may not matter.

Yah, not sure about the ones made of MDF or wood. I did see this one too which looks good, and seems cheaper as well:

Can't comment on the kits there but I notice the Bosch Colt router is a option- it's a beast, it's very small yet very powerful and you can buy 1/8" chucks for it. They say the spindle bearings are very high tolerance. Highly recommended. That's what I use in my pin router
