stuck at 4th two more times!
Any opinions on adding a fresh set of thunder tiger buggy shocks?

I also shaved the bottom of the trans case down to lower the trans and decrease the angle of the cvd vs arm, in order to get less dogbone plunge. The diff gear pokes out below the trans now though, requiring a few min with the dremel to relive the chassis a smidge to allow the diff gear to spin. This old beater is so good for messing around with.

Q5 but went the fastest it's ever gone, b/c of a new lipo. I even qualified on the same lap as the leader!
Stealing a page from the Losi guys I glued 1/4 oz weights to each front tower and (2) 1/4 oz weights to the top of the rear tower to make the car roll some more, IT WORKS. Even with the stubby arms and camber links you can make it roll a bit in the corner without going super soft in the suspension.

Re: Long wheelbase tub racer, fugly but fast
Ok new update.
I have been using 1.02 shock on the rear and Kyosho/Kyosho-style shock on the front.
I finally got some 1.32 shafts and a shock rebuild kit to rebuild a dead set of 1.32 shocks for the rear, and the difference on the bench is amazing. Even with a big spacer taking out some droop, the car has way more travel in all the right places. The 1.02 let too much uptravel happen and not enough droop. Time to hit the track and see how it goes, after resetting the cvd spacing since they droop out out of the diff outdrives. Oh and gonna put the stock fronts on too, the Kyosho shocks don't let enough uptravel happen and bottom out early.

THis thing is coming together.
After adding even more limiters in the 1.32 body/shaft, it ran the fastest qualifier at the Tekin Indoor showdown!
But with qual points only got 2nd qualifier.
With some terrible triple A mains, I finished 5th.
heres a vid thanks JM:

The rc10 is the one that rolls over in the whoops and ends up leading at the end of the 2nd lap.

Re: Long wheelbase tub racer, fugly but fast
Update:
It was another good year for this old dog.
I raced a few more times, making the A main in Spokane for the Hank Perry 240 Mod Buggy again, a 3rd in stock buggy in the Tekin Showdown (Boise) and 3rd again in the October Open (Boise) (had pace for 1st though)!
I scored a LIKE NEW Team Car though, no chassis scratches, no dirt; and will be moving some parts over to that car.
Here is the vid of it's last race, and the last major race at TQ Speedway (they closed).
