IIRC, the AristoCraft radio was, at the time, a very low-end copy of the Futaba, Kraft and Airtronics AM radios. My brother had one on his first Tamiya Subaru Brat. Outside of the brown plastic, I think it worked pretty well for him. I do remember they were VERY inexpensive.justinspeed79 wrote: The radio that came with this is pretty sweet, I think I'm gonna put it in my GT resto. It's an Aristo-Craft/Hi-Tec Challenger-2PX. It looks cool and is in very good condition for the age. It still has the protective film on all the badges. It powers up, but I haven't actually tested it yet. It's gona be for a shelf queen anyway, so even if it doesn't actually work it will work for the purpous.
Hmmm, I don't remember Hi-Tec ever being a copy of Futaba or Airtronics, maybe that was a little before my time. It doesn't look like a cheap copy of anything, it actually looks like it is pretty good quality. It doesn't matter anyway, it isn't going to get used, it's just for looks. It's old and it still looks good, so it will do the job just fine.apexspeed wrote:IIRC, the AristoCraft radio was, at the time, a very low-end copy of the Futaba, Kraft and Airtronics AM radios.
