Some of (Overrev) my stuff...

Enjoy!!!
Wheels are easy, tyres less so.Overrev wrote:Thanks for the info. The car is more than halfway restored, some small stuff like turnbuckles/tierod ends need completion. Next would be tires and wheels, have to look for the originals i know its lurking somewhere. As for the body i would go for the d storm which is the closest so far. Suggestions please..

The wheels are the same as the Dynastorm, and are still used on current cars so easy to find.
The wheels are:
RC 2WD Off Road Astral Wheels - Dish Front (60/19) part number 51205
RC Off Road Astral Wheels - Dish Rear (60/29) part number 51206
Tyres are harder to find as they have been discontinued. They are:
RC Front Tires, part number 9805617, also listed as part number 53083
Rear Spire Spike Tire Set part number 53093, discontinued, but has been 'replaced' by Rear Square Spike Tire Set, part number 53084 that is still produced and is similar but with square spikes instead of round spikes.
For the body, here's the Dynastorm repro from Team Bluegroove
The wheels are only available in white, but you can dye them any colour you want with Rit dye. Can't help with the posts, but anyone with access to a lathe should be able to turn up replacements.Overrev wrote:Great! this is valuable info. Do they have it in pink? Thats the one on the rc10. The originals come in that color. As for the tires, i'll have to settle for the square spike if available. Oh before i forget, is the aluminum post for the upper deck still used on some tamiya cars? I have two missing. Thanks Terry

I would think the same about Tamiya wheels, but it seems many people have been successful dyeing them. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=62036 I think the trick is to just keep it simmering and don't let the wheels sit on the bottom of the pan.Overrev wrote:I've been thinking bout dying them but having second thoughts coz i dont trust tamiya plastics, wont they warp?

Astute, Egress and Avante (there´s more) uses the same deck posts.

I have the same shell if anyone wants to have a stab at creating a mold - its very basic in design - like an early dynastorm prototype.
