Thank you, I was pretty skeptical of the copper but with the black I think it pops pretty well.

I'm going to run a optima pro body on this one as well, but I also have the undertray ordered. It should be interesting if it fits!

It's got to be a photo optical illusion but those front shocks look HUGE, larger even then the rears!

I like the copper 'cuz it's different, and you're right--there should be more Ultima modding going on here. A lot of the stuff you can do with the Optima series, you can do with the Ultimas...at least the ass end. 8)

It always intrigued me the way kyosho would "blend" their parts. Like the rampage gas cars, they use optima front arms with ultima carriers and spindles. The same um-14 bellcrank has made it to many different cars. They just have an interesting way of kit bashing.

They also were the company I would always laugh at, seeing car action do a review on the same chassis with four different bodies  lol

I am still going on my Stinger and Rampage chassis, there will be another thread tho. The Ultimas are slowly coming to an end for my purposes

More than Tamiya, even? How many cars shared the Frog/Brat chassis? 10? A dozen?

Loving the look of the copper
I agree we need to see more Ultima builds, I'm building a NIB Ultima Pro as a practice run (too boring for a thread) and then I start my modified Pro XL

I have been working on another, guess I have to change my title now lol

This one is a turbo chassis and mostly new parts. Nos ball diff, universals, plastics, etc. Long front arms are used but I have some new andys to swap out with. Shocks are golds that have been anodized black. Towers are repro Joel Johnson's and radio palate is a JG copy. I got the rear wheels from a member here- they are a one piece wheel and look printed?! Not sure what I have to be honest! Anyway, here she is mostly complete just awaiting body and electronics

Since I was doing a batch of blue anno I tossed in an old hard ultima chassis and towers just to see how they would turn out. Ignore the black shocks  I have a couple sets of golds that will liven it up a little. This one has some deep gouges and even some initials engraved but from a couple feet away it's a looker! Hahaha

The motor plate is a litesink missing the sink  I did a plain stock mount too, I'll probably swap out. Not a fan of this mod lol. Oh, the tires and wheels are just placeholders too

I finally realized how much I have when I put my kits and radios into storage so I can work on the hobby room. It was a workout! I'm trying to wrap up a few so I can start insulating and wiring the room 8)

Nice, you don't see dark royal blue anodizing too often. 8)
