First Losi in my collection
First Losi in my collection
Been looking for something other than Team Associated to add to my collection, so I've started with a Losi XX. Still learning about the car and the different variations it had over the years. I picked up two parts cars off of ebay and combined them into a near runner to start out. So after a few more additional parts she's nearly done. I've also added a few upgrades like A trinity rear trany brace, trinity front shock tower, and trinity wide front hubs. I also found a new set of RPM arms to install on the front. All in all I think I'm going to stay on a Losi kick and continue to restore some older Losi's.

Re: First Losi in my collection
great car, you will love driving it.
Sleeps with a night light on, not because he's scared of the dark but because the dark is scared of him...........stay thirsty my friends
Re: First Losi in my collection
I think I'll like driving it!! Seems like a very solid buggy that is very easy to work on and has alot of tuning options to make it work well at the track. I'm very interested to see how it compares to my B3 buggy. Took a few pic's of the two rivals together .

Re: First Losi in my collection
RPM front arms on both right?
I have both too, the XX Cr and the B3. I prefer the b3 because it is easier for me, but both great cars!

Re: First Losi in my collection
That is correct, both the XX and the B3 both have RPM front arms.

Re: First Losi in my collection
I loved my XX back in the day. Have to pick one up again before they're too hard to find.
Re: First Losi in my collection
First off I've been updating my first Losi to XX Kinwald CR spec's. I'm pretty much done, just need to install MIP light weight outdrives and aluminum drive shafts that are sitting the parts pile. I also picked up another XX that was an ebay parts car. I'm slowly bringing her back to life. As of now I just added RPM front arms, Novak electronics, and a Trinity tranny brace. I will hopefully be picking up a motor plate and transmission to finish her up in the near future. The last addition I picked up was a Junior 2. I added some Pro-Se shock towers, a hydrodrive setup, ball bearings, and RPM front arms. Here are some pic's of my new additions and upgrades.
Oh, since I did a xx & B3 last time, I figured I'd do a xx & a B2, and yes the B2 has a Hydrodrive on her
Lastly I wanted to do something against the Junior 2 and the only in the same time period was my RPM RC10 so it's Junior & RPM RC10

Re: First Losi in my collection
Great collection of cars you have there Chris - & what alot of old Novak ESCs & Receivers!.... the XX is a car that alot of people have a great deal of affection for. Its great that you have a B3 to run back-to-back comparison tests with, the general consensus seems to be that the XX was the easier car to drive & set-up where as the B2/B3 cars were more 'lively' to drive & possibly more reliant on a good set-up. It seems to me that XX buggies that appear on ebay seem to command higher values than similar condition B3s?
I'm sure you'll enjoy running the XX & hopefully gain you own affection for the model, its good that you have the RPM front arms - these are stronger than the original items (front arms are always a vunerable part on any buggy) - but it seems any XX front arms are difficult to come by.
