Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
I think prp has it, the shot of the mip car shows a pale line around the gear cover at about the stock height.

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
yeah that could be a possibility. converting two gear covers. would make sense to the absent gear cover button.

Not sure? To be honest, he has not said much at all. I appreciate the help he has provided though.JPAE07 wrote:Wow I have a new respect for the papercliprear end. Awesome find.
I wonder if Eustace is reconsidering the re-re 4wd kit based on the success of the reissue and the fact his poll to reissue the parts was in favor of it.

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
I was actually going to ask if anyone knew what the gear cover was. I will look again, but I do not think that I have it?littleVETTE wrote:would you happen to have the gear cover? i was looking at the photo that pierre provided and it seems to look identical to a few other associated factory rigs that had the same gear cover at the 93 worlds. i think it was an associated prototype gear cover that had the looks of the original gear cover, but extended for the the hydra drive. i would like to see its features if you have it.
also i'm not a losi guy, but that hydra drive you put on looks to be a little different than most production units. i'm aware some people had different methods to hold the cases together, but that setup you have i don't think i've seen before. it also looks like they milled away material from the outside diameter. maybe to fit the gear cover, reduce weight, etc.? maybe a losi guy could chime in and recognize it.

I am not a Losi guy either, so I have no idea about the Hydra drive?

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
Also, what do you guys think about the transmission brace? Is it just a cut down, nylon, stock stealth brace?

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
They are the same diameter of the small bearings in the Stealth gearbox if this helps?

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
Today's update: Re-installed the original cut front arms, the original black front chassis braces, installed the original cut battery cup, cut the rear transmission brace, installed wing tubes, installed Lunsford titanium turn buckles up front, and installed some correct shocks that I had in a parts box. Also started to make a gear cover to match the original. Here are the latest pics.

You know, just tonight I was thinking, why did I take those decals off? Stupid, stupid, stupid..............clm wrote:What a rebirth, like a Phoenix from the ash pile of time. I bet you are kicking yourself for taking off the decals

Good thing is I have lots of vintage decals and already have most to put back on. I can see in the picture from the magazine, a Proline decal I have never seen before. I have yet to find the 3 little yellow MIP decals up front by the chassis brace screw. The standard yellow MIP decals that come with most CVD's are too big. I have the small ones in white and black, but have yet to find yellow. Hopefully they are in my decals somewhere. I was excited though to see that I have the 4-10 decal that goes on the transmission brace!

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
Does anyone know what the front body mount is? I only have the front and it appears that the same one was used in the back. I am not familiar with this body mount.

Are those collars or ribs on those? Parma universals maybe?

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
Here is the rough draft on the gear cover. Now I just have to figure out how to join the two pieces and make it look good. Horrible glue job on my part, but it works.
