I had blown up the pictures and could see that it was definitely the same car. Very cool indeed!prp wrote:I confirmed that this car run at the 93 WC in UK... like Rossetti run a 4x4 PRO SE LOSI.

I have not had time to count or measure the belt yet.Phin wrote:Feel like counting the teeth and measuring the length of the belt?Vintagemishal wrote:...
Good to know. Thanks for the information. I can at least use it to keep the belt in place until I can find an original. I was hoping that MIP could help me out with an original, but does not seem to be the case.

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
I have a small update, but a good one. I blew up the pictures that PRP sent from the magazine and I was trying to figure out what motor plate it had on it. I started looking through my stuff, and there it was, it was on the RC10 DS that I got in the lot! Sure enough, it is the same motor plate, cut to fit the back and everything! Then the article says that he was running a Losi Hydra-drive. Again, looking through the stuff, and here is the Losi Hydra-drive on a RC10 B2 gearbox. Promptly took them apart and on the MIP they went. Also put on some Tecnacraft titanium turn buckles in the rear along with some MIP CVD's.

Wow I have a new respect for the papercliprear end. Awesome find.
I wonder if Eustace is reconsidering the re-re 4wd kit based on the success of the reissue and the fact his poll to reissue the parts was in favor of it.

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
would you happen to have the gear cover? i was looking at the photo that pierre provided and it seems to look identical to a few other associated factory rigs that had the same gear cover at the 93 worlds. i think it was an associated prototype gear cover that had the looks of the original gear cover, but extended for the the hydra drive. i would like to see its features if you have it.
also i'm not a losi guy, but that hydra drive you put on looks to be a little different than most production units. i'm aware some people had different methods to hold the cases together, but that setup you have i don't think i've seen before. it also looks like they milled away material from the outside diameter. maybe to fit the gear cover, reduce weight, etc.? maybe a losi guy could chime in and recognize it.

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
The squared off backs of the lugs used to keep the hydradrive case together are different then my production ones, I bet that's a early / pre-production hydradrive to boot. The lugs on mine are round.

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
kinwald's and masami's looked like normal hydra units. it's kinda hard to see masami's hydra unit, but the glimmer of the metal lug between the spur and case shows that his was a normal hydra unit too.

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
looking at it a little more, and i'm starting to think because of the smaller spur gear it was probably done for the sake of the pinion gear. clearance issues.

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
Maybe the gear cover is made with 2 RC10 Gear cover cut and glue on each other...
