Re: uh wow i think this price is a little high
Hehehe well its a lot more than I thought it would go for, so now I have an idea of how much to ask for when I sell mine (not for a while as im still building it slowly). Still as the guys here have said its a sought after kit and lets face it a worlds top ten finisher as well so worth the money as your buying a piece of history. A design that still has not been bettered.

Re: uh wow i think this price is a little high
Well I know someone who did the same design on his Losi XXCR or whatever its called and I still feel that his design (even though its brilliant and more upto date and I am going to have one) is not as good as the original design.
No one has bettered it yet. Yes there are 4wd cars that better it but none are 2wd conversions, and this is the point I am making. MIP made the design work and well, and made the RC10 a car that was dominant in not only 2wd but 4wd as well. If there are other designs out there that I havent seen then please show me, as I enjoy seeing designs and ideas - heck we all have our own ideas on the perfect car and have to admit that everyone here has quite an idea on what it should be.

If you are talking 4WD conversion kits, then I agree.
I thought you were comparing the 4WD RC10 to a modern 4WD vehicle.
My bad.

Re: uh wow i think this price is a little high
I know I'm getting old and my memory may be slipping, but I don't remember seeing many 4wd RC10's on the lists of any regional, national or world level races bitd in RCCA. I remember AYK, Schumacher, Yokomo and Kyosho all over the 4wd class. Dominate is not the word I would use to describe the MIP 4WD RC10 in the 4WD class.
There's a reason why conversion kits don't stick around for the long haul. Purpose built vehicles always perform better. Look at the RC10T compared to anything that came before it. I've never, ever, ever heard that the RC10 conversion was a great kit. Highly desirable... yes. Rare... fairly. Collectible... yes. A dominate (or consistantly competitive for that matter) conversion in it's time... no.
It is an interesting kit for sure, and cool as heck, but don't think it's something greater than what it is.

Re: uh wow i think this price is a little high
I was just gonna say... neat car and conversion, but I don't recall it ever winning ANYTHING at any major level anywhere. It was actually a pretty crappy design really made as a bandage on a 2wd car. The drivetrain ran in the middle of a 2wd electronics layout and the rear diff was an adapted 2wd tranny. Great design... um, no.
There are a LOT more 4wd cars out there with a much better resume, including some relatively recent ones from Losi and JConcepts. There were some Yokomos out there, too, that did pretty well in 4wd.

Off the top of your collective heads... can you think of ANY other 4wd conversions for 2wd buggies?
I can't.
Then yes, it's the greatest 4wd conversion kit of all time.

Re: uh wow i think this price is a little high
IDK, IMO yes that is a lot of money but by my experience 4-10's go for 600-800 as we've all seen and this one is NIB... and we've NEVER seen that so what are we all saying that its too much based on? That we can't afford it? I'm sure Cedric has that much into it. We all know he's not a price gouger.
