Retro Re-re Runner
Since the re-re parts starting hitting the shelves, I built this as a runner/basher since I don't currently have anything to run.
I'm still waiting on the re-re World's steering, battery cups and a few other small parts to arrive. And I have some Novak and Futaba gear that will get used. I don't want to go with the typical cookie-cutter Viper or Protech body, so I may be forced to order a 1/11th scale repop from TBG.
Re-re parts:
Front arms, rear bulkhead, rear arms, rear arm mounts, rear hub carriers, shock hardware, shock pins, battery cup, ball cups and steering.
I'm planning some new towers and .71's up front because these 1.02's and A&L tower are all I have for now and are too long.
*No parts from Valkyrie, michael9192 or Da Waffle were used in the making of his RC10.

Re: Retro Re-re Runner
That is one sweet runner. I did not know you could reverse the tranny, but I guess it's easy with the Light Speed motor plate! Very cool!

I like your pink nuts
That looks great, don't see many hyperdriven cars. Gear cover could get interesting!

Re: Retro Re-re Runner
Why you starin' at my pink nuts?
I was happy to get the HyperDrive setup on without much work, but it turns out my RPM B4/T4 gear cover no longer fits because of the giant pinion. I have an old Lexan one that I might try, but I doubt it will fit any better.
As for the chassis, it was abused on a previous runner I had and didn't taco. The battle scars on the bottom are proof of the abuse.
Does anyone know of a source for the new-style RPM bumper like the one pictured? I need to get a few more.

So, when you get it to the track, how many minutes do you think it will be before someone tells you've built the transmission the wrong way round.

Re: Retro Re-re Runner
They have the white truck bumpers in stock, but I'm looking for the #70411 RC10 shorty bumper in black. I ordered a few when they were released but now they're discontinued.janaya wrote:Amain hobbies sells the white version and it's dyeable.LTO_Dave wrote: Does anyone know of a source for the new-style RPM bumper like the one pictured? Re: Retro Re-re Runner
I broke out the old Sony Mavica FD-73 3.5" floppy disk camera and took some hi-res 0.3MP pics.
I added some Pro-Line 2.2" Dirt Hawgs, re-re battery cup, Novak 410-M5 esc & NER-3FM Rx, and Futaba S-148 servo. I tried to wire the electronics like the old Novak M5 magazine ad. I'm still waiting for my re-re World's steering kits to arrive from Tower before I can take this thing on her maiden voyage.

Re: Retro Re-re Runner
A small update:
I finally got my re-re World's steering from Tower and bolted it on, and even used those funny-lookin' bronze circle things.
I also CA'd the tires to the JC wheels and cut the front body post and moved it on the steering post bolt. I have a Protech II that I might use for now, as much as I don't want to. I robbed my brother's Axial of the LiPo until I get a Reedy pack.
I was planning to take it for a spin today, but there's about an inch of snow on the ground.
