$35 RC10

Post by knucklebuster »

I couldn't pass this up... came RTR w/new Trinity Speed Gem, used Race Prep, Futaba Sport, MC112B full fet esc, S148, 102GR rcvr, original rims/tires (not dyed), full set of like new Bolink foam rims/tires (now on my restoration), Tekin 850 peak detector and the truck body. Electronics are all like new.

I polished the tub, added RPM arms front and rear. Rims/tires are 2.2s w/Prolines up front, 2.175 w/Schumachers out back. I made the rear shock tower and swapped out rear shocks w/fronts. Cut new tie rods and and added new rod ends. Also added new bushings to the tranny and replaced the felt seals/retainers with bearings.

Almost ready to bash...

Thanks scr8p... While I like the look, I never could bring myself to polish my original RC10 even with all the scr8ps. She looks so good in gold. This one was asking for it though.

Thanks Daddeo, the front shock tower is AE... you could probably pick it up at your LHS.

we have this satin black paint at work that i use on the chassis after i strip them. it looks close to the black anoodizing. i just finished my rc10t chassis on sunday. i have polished my rc10gt chassis, though. it had the blue anodizing, and was scratched pretty bad. i feathered the scratches out somewhat, and polished the crap out of it. i didn't get crazy with it, cause i new i was just gonna screw it up again anyways.

Lookin' good scr8p. I hear you re polishing...

There used to be a local discount tire shop whose sales pitch was "Tires ain't pretty." Sums it up.

this is the rc10t i'm redoing, that i painted the chassis on. on the right, is a new black pan. it matches the anodizing pretty close.

This rig has seen multiple set-ups and a good bit of track time. I let Ronnie at SS Hobbies run it for our first vintage race, sadly I came in third behind one of my own cars!!! Well, it's time to retire this runner to the shelf. I plan to polish the chassis (it's good and beat now), add lowering kit up front with short arms, and this sweet Stingray body that I scored at the LHS. The body inspired the re-resto... here is a sneak peek of the card.

that is cool. i like the black accents you put, like the shock pieces and especially the antennae holder! it looks hardcore somthing like a hotrod. then the gold shocks are a nice touch, i like how the rear motor bracket/chassis shows the contrast of the 2 colors! especially with those rear tires i dig it.

peace
