Anything higher then the starting price will help compensate the over 10 hours of work to build this monster of a RC10.
Now greedbay sellers expect to be compensated for THEIR decision to assemble a kit too....the delusion is really over the top with these re-re kits on Ebay.
as mentioned before, when i worked in the hobby stores I charged $40+ to build one, nowadays I'd almost pay to build one just for the kicks

I received mine from Tower Hobbies on Thursday, but haven't opened it yet. Am I correct thinking that the re-release does not have any type of "stamp" on the chassis?

it was a good move from an brand equity standpoint.
just seeing the box on the shelf at a hobby store will keep their heritage alive by reminding the community of where they came from kinda thing.
and the spare parts keep the guys that come here happy, and the guys that come here are the best brand ambassadors they could hope for.
But that is just it, with such a limited quantity will there actually be any sitting on the shelves? I agree with what you are saying but it would still make more sense if it wasn't a super limited run.

It may not "really" be a limited run. This Futurama scene is funny and probably tells the truth.

I'm so glad I made the decision to pre order even though I am from the UK. Seems you guys on the other side of the pond are having a harder time sourcing these kits now.
Definitely with the consensus that only 2500 of these kits were made by TA/AE, got my 0.08% worth at least so I'm very happy

Same here...seems like a pre-order got everyone the best price (even here in the U.S.) as the hobby shops and online stores are now cranking up the prices to ridiculous amounts in some cases.
So, back long ago when I was in middle school and bashing around with my RC10 CE and regularly reading RC Car Action, I seem to remember a how-to published on how to modify the 6-gear transmission in order to reduce internal friction. I don't really...

here it is:
you can do it two ways, running a spacer inside the outdrive where the inner non flanged bearing went, or with a sleeve on the outside of the outdrive behind the 3/8 x 5/8 bearing.
Hi guys. Here is my Team Associated World's Car re-release. I completed the build last year (Sept. 2016). Some of you might remember seeing it. I haven't done anything to it since then, and it has only been driven a couple times. It was a really fun...

Savox can be loud, I almost always use the same model, some make noise and others not a peep. Go figure. I saw a review online that showed Turnigy 1258 is basically identical but around $40. I may try one.
do they give full PDF archives with pictures or just rsandom pages?
