Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
Well...I'm not sure! I ordered a bunch of TBG bodies and amongst them was this wing...it just said "W" on it, where the others were labeled Stealth, Kyosho, RPS, etc. I'm sure jon could identify it but I'm not sureCoelacanth wrote:and what wing is that in the first pic?

Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
All they are doing is sitting in a box and I will never use them so it makes sense to send them to someone who can...Don't worry I will get plenty of favors out of thisDennisM wrote:I´m not watching this - Please don´t send it to Jeff without instructions - who nows what he´ll build with this.REMJ666 wrote:![]()

Don't listen to Dennis, he will tell me what to do with them. No instructions needed!

I'm into that copper Ultima too.
I'm think you should do it HPI Baja 5B style for the rest of the build.

Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
Ijust gotta make another statement about that Copper Ultima. IDK why, but there hasn't been NEAR as much customization to the ultima on these boards as to the RC10s..well I guess I do know, the Associated was just far more ubiquitous. I've been wanting to see more of the Ultima aluminum chassis get reano'd and/or powder coated for a longtime. THe only others that come to mind are the green and orange ones that treehugger powdercoated. Anyway, again that copper and black Ultimas is SUPERB.
I'll just shut up now.

Just waiting on bits
The chassis isn't as nice as it looks....but it took the anno well. From a foot away and careful photography she is a real looker!
I just got the bill in the mail today. copper is more expensive! DOH! Still worth it tho

Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
Another long ass day at work, by the time I got home it was too late to do any routering (stuff is piling up!) so I took some time to put the copper ultima together. Didn't take a lot of pics but here is the butt
Not sure about the platinums. The fronts are too long for the tower but golds won't look right at all. I know it's sacrilegious but it might get copper associated shocks. We will see

Looks great! If you do more copper, I gotta get some polished parts in that batch!

I might be game for more copper at some point but I found out its a lot more money (the hard way!)j-sou wrote:Looks great! If you do more copper, I gotta get some polished parts in that batch!
The last lot I took for copper was $65 instead of $40....and I'm sure I didn't hit the minimum....there again I didn't ask.
I love the color but it needs a good prep

Re: Ultima Trio- oval, buggy, and Truck projects
And a little more done today. Went with the long front shock tower and another set of long platinums.
I'm going to run a optima pro body on this one as well, but I also have the undertray ordered. It should be interesting if it fits!
