The box is much thinner unlike the ones BITD.
Speaking of which corners on both of the kits I received were crushed. So at least one will get built for sure.

I'm curious if the aluminum is thinner and if the white plastic is cheaper.

The aluminum is the same thickness as before, only the top edges of the chassis has a little bit more of a radius than before, and the plastic is still the same high quality DuPont as before. No cheap plastics here!

Tower stock status currently is Temporarily Unavailable. I'm glad I have mine already. :)

I ordered a 2nd one on Monday from Tower when I saw the stock status move to “In Stock” while doing a refresh on the product page. After placing the order I checked the page again and it was on back order again. I called and spoke to Customer Support this week Tuesday at Tower and was told that they will not be getting any more of these kits.

Was it published anywhere how many of the kits were being produced?

Whatever that number is, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if they made a small change to the box or anything cosmetic and made another run. I have buddies that didn’t get on the list early enough or switched hobby distributors during the waiting process and lost their place in the queue that still want one.

My 2nd one will be here Friday and will get built just like the first one.

Its only been out a few weeks and everything is bought up. Hopefully AE sees the demand and does another batch. maybe the graphite with a stealth will be next.

I count 16 for sale on ebay right now. all above retail.

What about other suppliers? tower may have gotten a lot but they were also being a distributor to other stores.

Few sites I found not saying out of stock, hobbyetc is the only one ive ever used in the list. you wont like the prices too from these sites.

Mine is still on rout from China :| (should have bought it from UK = 1-3 day shipping)

Let's hope those ebayers don't snatch all the UK kit's

First of all, Hi to everyone, this is my first post and only registered here yesterday.

Talk over on Tamiya Club implies 2,500 kits total were produced. Based on availability and a rough guestimate, seems pretty accurate to me. I am not at all surprised either that there still remains stock in the UK as opposed to the US.

yea, that was what we were told too. Odds are there is still a huge amount of unsold kits. The main distributers no longer have kits but the resellers such as local hobby shops and the for profit people on ebay have a lot of them.

Either way we go. The speed at which all the kits were sold probably bodes well for us as it may encourage AE to produce more.

Surprise at the LHS

Post by CCC »

I went into the the LHS today and they had a bunch of RC10 classics in stock! looks pretty nice.

This was supposed to be a new thread, so I created on. Still not sure how it ended up attached to this one lol.
