I think that is probably how it works; the whole setup for boxing up their other kits is already in place in China, so it makes more sense to ship the parts back there than set up a whole new operation here for a limited run.flipwils11 wrote:Ditto, same email from Tower today. I also am very surprised they're available overseas first, what the hell...
How did the supply channels for the kit work I wonder, if some pieces were made in the US are they manufactured here and then shipped to China to join with the rest of the made in China parts and get boxed up (and then back across the globe to the US for sale in hobby shops here)?

Maybe I'm being rather naive but I would have thought AE would have wanted USA customers to get their kits first....

Everything probably got released from the factory on the same day, it just takes more time to ship to America.

Or they got told what day "release day" was and the hobby shops in China said "whatever."SteveK wrote:Everything probably got released from the factory on the same day, it just takes more time to ship to America.

Since the original RC10's are known as either Cadillac's or Edinger's, does that mean the re-re's should be called Commercentre's?

I'm thinking more China's as that's where the kit was put together?

Dangit! I knew that was going to happen... I wasn't going to bother, but now I see photos of the actual kit, and I want one.
Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
Well I just had to call Tower to update my payment option as my credit card on file expired while waiting
I didn't ask when it was going to ship but I think it should be pretty soon! Now I'll just wait to see the order shipped email and then I can get really excited!!!!

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
I think it would be more accurate to call them by whatever place in China they are being made, since the old names reflect where they actually were made, tossed in boxes and then shipped from.fredswain wrote:Since the original RC10's are known as either Cadillac's or Edinger's, does that mean the re-re's should be called Commercentre's?

Apparently the UK kits are in Her Majesty's Customs and Excise, expected to be shipped from retailers end of this week

I got an email from tower saying they "anticipate a delivery in the very near future". So hopefully it will be on its way soon

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
what's funny about TH's email (which I also got...) is the "Enough inventory to fill all our back orders is anticipated but not guaranteed. Due to the demand, we limited the quantities of these items to no more than 2 per customer." This plus all the other ones across the world make me think there are way more than 2000 units or like...
To our HK friend: can you share what the price was, please? Thanks for the pix btw, makes me salivate!
