Everything has to do with current market value, but I'd say the price is roughly equal to cost of a chassis 15 years ago, plus inflation and accounting for the cost of new tooling, which is very high. I don't think they are monitoring eBay and adjust the price based on recent auctions. Quality aluminum is not cheap, and even simple aluminum plate chassis for other vehicles are pretty expensive. Plus it is pre-release pricing, which is always higher than the eventual price. Ah, they finally posted the manual as well. Got this baby added. I will also be ordering some rubber seal versions of these bearings in the future.
