B3 for the wife!
I suppose I'm very lucky that not only does my better half allow me to indulge in this hobby, but that she has a bit of an interest in it!
She's timid about the speeds they run, nervous to control them, so I figured I'd build her a relatively simple and sedate buggy. So I went looking for a decent roller, and found what I thought was (seller wasn't so honest). It was much rougher than expected, had none of the "upgrades" the ad claimed, but fortunately I have a lot of parts on hand, so only had to order a couple of rear links, 2.2" buggy tires, a motor, and gears.
This is what I bought:
And this is where it's at so far:
Rebuilt the shocks, replaced the aluminum caps and white lower mounts on the front with black plastic as they should be, new rear springs. All the screws & turnbuckles were rusty, so I removed them, wire wheeled them and then hit 'em with Birchwood Casey gun blue. It was a bushing car, but bearings now. It'll be running on a 2S LiPo, using a hobbyking ESC and 2.4 receiver. Motor is en route, it's a Reedy Radon 17T. 81T spur and 20T pinion; should be it quick, but not ridiculous. We'll see how long the paint holds up on the wheels......
Yes, that's a gold pan Viper body. I already had it, and the fitment is actually pretty decent on a B3, only requiring an extended body post. Definitely needs some AE decals, though, and perhaps some tribal stickers or something.
Motor & tires should be here tomorrow, but I probably won't see the gears until next week. Once it's a runner, we'll see if she's up for some video!

Re: B3 for the wife!
Tires & motor came in, amazing how much better they look with rubber on them!
Still waiting on gears, so I just snagged the ones off my championship buggy for now so it can be run. Nowhere near the performance of my 3S/3,300 brushless, but that Reedy 17T runs pretty good on 2S.
