Dug out some good pics of the old shelf queen

Post by MelvinsArmy »

I found an old CD with tons of RC pics on it. Here's a couple good ones of my shelf queen. You've probably seen this car before, but I liked these pics so I'm posting it again. 8)

Oh, I've still got this one. 8) This will be the LAST R/C I'll ever sell. You know if you see this one up for sale, I'm totally out of R/C forever. I imagine that if I ever do swear off R/C, I'll still keep this buggy just because I like it so much.

It still looks the same, except now I have a clear gear dust cover on it. I'm thinking of giving it a new body though. Maybe something more old school baja style. It's had this body on it for 5 years now.

I just caught that. He was my favorite as a kid. The other new paint job I was thinking of is like his 1985 car. Mostly green with a white stripe along the bottom. Not too many green Rc10's out there, maybe I should stick with my old favorite. It's most likely the theme I'd have run back then. I had a string of Harry Gant bodies when I was running carpet oval back in the early 90's.

i've been watching nascar for as long as i can remember. i wish it was now, like it was back then.

here's a pic of the man himself in a suvenier trailer at the coke 600 in charlotte in 2003. it never fails, the pic of him shaking my hand after i got his autograph didn't come out.

Cool man. I never have been to a Nascar race. I used to really like it back in the 80's and early 90's. But, around the mid-90's or so I began to loose interest, and when Dale died that was it for me. It just isn't as exciting as it was back then. Plus, it seems really big and corporate now. I mean, they've always had big sponsors and stuff, but it just seemed to have more grit and grime back then. For me F1, NHRA and World of Outlaws are the best spectator motorsports. I hit an NHRA race about once a year.
