Burns chassis info??
Hello All, I just added a Burns to my collection. If I remember correctly the original Burns chassis was basic satin coated silver. This car's chassis has a brownish colored anodizing on it. I seem to vaguely remember that there was an optional chassis for this car. Can anyone verify or disprove that there was there an optional chassis for the Burns?

Re: Burns chassis info??
The chassis on Your picture is what I would call satin?
Kyosho had the BSW7 as optional chassis, it´s thicker and holes counter sunk - Same colour though.
Optima Mid turbo and the SE came with a brownish chassis.

You should talk to Marwan as he is quite knowledgable on these cars. Also Roger (Highway Racer) has been a great source for me on these models.

Re: Burns chassis info??
My burns has a silver chassis and my buddy's turbo burns has the bronze chassis (counter sunk). I've also seen the bronze chassis (non counter sunk) on different cars that I've owned and a silver counter sunk chassis on a turbo burns. I think there could be 4 different chassis out there:
I have a feeling your chassis is slightly thicker than the standard silver.

Re: Burns chassis info??
Highwayracer my chassis looks just like the one in your link. The thickness of my chassis is 2.65mm measured with my digital caliper. Why I am interested in the chassis is that if I remember correctly that the optional chassis had a slightly longer wheel base (5 or 6 mm). As I now have both the burns and the Turbo Burns I can tell you for sure that there is more than just countersinking. The layouts is slightly different between the Burns and the Turbo Burns. The wheel base is longer on the Turbo Burns.
J.M. or Highwayrace if you have an opportunity to measure the thickness of you chassis please post it for me . I would really like to compare the results. Special or not I am going to clean up this car and then drive it like I stole it at the track!!!

Re: Burns chassis info??
I have both a Burns and the Turbo Burns. Indeed the Turbo Burns has the longer chassis and if my information is correct then it is the same used on the first Inferno also.
I will need to confirm the measurements when I return home from a visit away with the relo's.
All I want to know is, how attached are you to the yellow rims? I have been wanting a set in yellow.

Re: Burns chassis info??
Unfortunately the color is the same but that is all that is the same between the Inferno and the Turbo Burns. The layout is totally different between the two cars. There was an optional blue chassis for the Inferno that was only offer to the Kyosho USA team over hereJ.M. wrote: Indeed the Turbo Burns has the longer chassis and if my information is correct then it is the same used on the first Inferno also.

I saw in your Burns electro conversion thread that you have all sort of goodies. I am sure that something can be worked out

Re: Burns chassis info??
Ther are 4 style chassis's for the Burns: origional , satin and recoil cut out and a crome one that came with a usa-1 nitro. I have them all. The chassis for the inferno's are comlpetly different. The chassis for the T Burns is slightly longer and has countersunk holes. I own the Burns , T Burns Usa-1 nitro crusher, Inferno and DX , Inferno limited 2 , Inferno ST. The landmax is also in the same family.J.M. wrote:I have both a Burns and the Turbo Burns. Re: Burns chassis info??
Oh wow! I'd love to get my hands on one of those.maruirc wrote:I found a composite chassis by Dutatrax for the T burns.
Re: Burns chassis info??
Your talking about the T burns. The Burns dx didn't have bearings and had a stock chassis. None of the kits had hardened gears or steel main gear or metal brakes. Those were upgraded parts BSW.
