Here's another one of my older cars. This was a truck I build specificaly for a local carpet oval track. The "track managers" were giving my buddy a hard time about running his truck (my old reflex 10). They said that it didn't qualify as a truck because it wasn't a conversion of a traditional truck. This got me reall pi**ed off, so I decided to build a truck that met thieir requirements...they weren't expecting this.
We called it "project X". There was nothing sinister about the name...it just so happens that I found a tiny PROJECT X decal on an old Kyosho decal sheet
Lot's of RPM parts, bunch of time hand cutting the chassis...
This car is a great example of what rc racing is all about.Using good ideas to get the advantage. It looks great and the hand made chassis looks as good as a machined one.
As for the construction of the chassis, I used a drill press for the holes. Everything else, cutting & shaping was with a dremel tool. A cutting wheel was used for the straight lines and the general shape. The curves were done with a drum sander attachment.
That was actually a 1/8 thick sheet of circuit board material...fiberglass sandwiched by copper. I had to peel the coper layer to expose the bare fiberglass.
This was my buddy's from back in the day. I found it and his Clod on Craigslist.

Nice score on the jrxt and clod.. they look like alot of fun to work on.. my suggestion is to do a build thread on the jrxt (clean up and rebuild) and go from there.. 1 you get to see what you have and need to replace if any and 2 it will build your...
A local track that has very nice facilities and has only been racing capet oval is going to give offroad style capet for 1/10 buggies a chance. Looking for any input to transition from the typical indoor US clay tracks to carpet.
My main question...

Grip rolling both front and rear is a real issue. Any drag brake at all causes a problem. I've also found keeping the rear tires spinning good over jumps keeps from traction rolling the rear when the tires come back into contact with the carpet....
This is the where it all got started with my RC10 passion.
This vehicle is intended to be raced on our carpet track here in Germany. I only take it a couple of times a year out to the track, to keep it in one piece.
Its brushless powered and the...
Well since she had some complains about the Schumacher XLS
The wing was a abit battered and yellow the 32 pitch gears makes it a bit noisy and the body was white and it didnt look like her sisters RC10

In order to run the same battery I run in my 22 I want to remount in my XT racer. Curious from people with more racing experience which you would choose and why. The battery is so light it probably matters less than old days but not sure....

Good thinking. I could even drill the holes in chassis such that I could move these hold downs back and forth together.
Sooo-- I moved to South Carolina, just south of Charlotte. Been here 9 years now-- had no idea it was such an RC racing hotbed --particularly outdoor 1/8th scale.
Well, one of the tracks just opened...
