I'm not buying this as well. If this was the case you would think that TH would have contacted those that did not make the list. :?

Take all the individual parts and add them up- it's close to the price on the side of the box that nobody sells them for and no one would pay. If they produce few kits, but tons of parts, they may be hoping to sell the parts to people willing to build out of pieces. Never know. It's not something I haven't done in the past!
I doubt I'd build a whole one from parts, but if the parts supply is as robust as they're saying, I'd consider using re-re parts to fill in the gaps to complete a runner. It would certainly save me from buying any more "parts lots" full of grubby broken junk, only to get the one bit I need. And I think I'm only a tub, transmission, and shock towers away from having another whole car.

What I wonder is, if the parts are really where the money is, why is Tamiya's supply of re-re parts so horrible? Apart from bodies and tires, it's near impossible to find replacement parts for the re-re cars.

I can't speak for tamiya but if they aren't selling loads of parts they are missing out. Profit on parts is the only place money is made.

At the hobby shops the cars were just to get you in the door. We made more on a set of arms than we did on some kits.

I'm sure he is going off the same info the GP reps are spewing, and most likely it is what they are being told. Remember that thing in school where you whisper something in the ear of the person next to you and by the time it gets to the other end of the room you find out that the story changed dramatically?

From what the reps have passed along, GP is the only supplier getting them as well. No Horizon, no HRP, etc. Very odd to go this route as I'm sure some shops don't deal with GP much. So much is unclear, time will tell.

It would be very disappointing if TowerHoobies knew they were sold out and still accepted pre-orders. However, I will keep my pre-order and wait to see what happens. It costs nothing to wait.

I'm looking forward to the decal set! I'm hoping for box art for sure, but it would be nice to get both the Jay Halsey Worlds and Trophy Girl ad sets with it as well! Would that not be fantastic? Also looking forward to the tires! Will Proline re-release some of their original tires? I hope they still have the molds! 8) Don't mock me but I would like to see the Sidewinder body return! I guess my tastes change as I get older!

No need to apologize, I've always loved the Sidewinder styling.

And if you were one of the first 100 to order you get a box with a special sticker, a bikini model delivery and a coupon for $50,000 off a Tesla model S.

I also find it hard to believe they would only make 2000 kits 1500 of which went to tower. So only 500 went to other hobby shops in the us and the rest of the world????? Really????? If. I don't get atleast one of my pre orders from tower I will really re think doing any future business with them especially after I called them three time out of fear  that iwont get one let alone the three I ordered.tower told me "if you placed your pre order from us you will get it"so now it becames the question of are they still taking orders in case people back out and then move to the next person on the list? Or do they have enough to send everyone who ordered there car? I ordered two and had a friend order one just in case they play the only one per customer.I really want two and as I said before if I get three I will gladly sell one to a member of this site one at cost plus shipping from me to you if you were unable to place your order for whatever reason.I am not looking to make any money from it like some people are by buying ten to resell.I just ordered that way hoping I get one to put away unopened and one to play with.but really 2000 for the whole world? Even Taiwan, China, Canada, and .........to share ......really bad on a.e. part if so. But there again non of us really knows for sure who here works for tower? A.e.? Just wait and hope or pray like me that all of the ebay scanks don't buy them before us to resell at a stupid price or break them up for parts like you know they will.yes I am talking about you!

1500 to one US distributor, with 500 for the rest of the US and the rest of the world!

Just looking at 4 Uk modelshops tells me at least 100 are coming to the UK, and I'd expect at least that number for Japan, Australia, maybe 300 for the rest of Europe ?

Who knows, but 75%allocation to one distributor - LOL

Look guys! It's all just hype to boost sales! Calm down! There will be enough to fill all orders plus 10-20% more for regular estimated sales! Even more will be made if sales are great!
