Judging by this video from the second heat of the modified finals at the '85 world's I'd say they aren't topping more than 30 mph if that. I've got a fairly modern 19 turn Trinity that would definitely keep up with these in terms of speed. A 12-15 turn motor would definitely be overkill.
EDIT: I just noticed that this is the 4WD class and this is a 4WD RC10!
my friend texted me the news that associated had finally listened to its customers for once and was actually re releasing the car that made history over 20 years ago so i rushed out to the garage to the mancave / rc work area to hop on the computer to verify it.... i thought I was dreaming....when I woke up I realized I had slipped in the puddle of laundry soap on the garage floor from the bottle falling off the shelf. so after cussing for about 5 minutes i got up and checked and sure enough its true and im disappointed at the same time since im sure when i have the dough saved that every one of them will be gone since its limited production. $249 on tower hobbies but i cant hit the buy it button....kinda wished i could pre order and then pay when its available but that would be a perfect world. guess i gotta pay triple for one on ebay when someone who bought 5-10 of them at once decides to crank the price up
do you think its a bad twilight zone episode for team associated to be re producing a buggy from yesteryear that is capable of beating their latest and greatest production buggy?
wife wont let me use the card anymore she got to the mailbox before i did once and that happened to be the day the statement came i use paypal now for tower purchases

In 1985, how many turns would a mod motor have had in an event like the Worlds?
For mod around 18-20 turn at best. Any lower and you couldn't make race time with the 1200mah cells we were using at the time. Motor technology wasn't that advanced back then either with much weaker dry magnets, so you could get more speed from a fairly recent 27T stock motor. One of the hottest motors back then was the Kyosho Lemans 240S, designed for 4 minute 7 cell racing. That is a 19 turn single wind.
One production run, which has already sold out. Almost entirely remade from new moulds. Partly made in the USA, the rest overseas. Graphite, CE versions also being considered for re-release.

My buddy talked to his rep at GP and she said there will be no second run.... but plenty of parts to build from. he also said he will be lucky to get 100% of what he ordered, most likely 1/2 or so.
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas Factory Works website
Nobody knows for sure but GP says they are oversold and can't fill all the orders as of right now. That's what I'm hearing.

So, back long ago when I was in middle school and bashing around with my RC10 CE and regularly reading RC Car Action, I seem to remember a how-to published on how to modify the 6-gear transmission in order to reduce internal friction. I don't really...

here it is:
you can do it two ways, running a spacer inside the outdrive where the inner non flanged bearing went, or with a sleeve on the outside of the outdrive behind the 3/8 x 5/8 bearing.
Hi guys. Here is my Team Associated World's Car re-release. I completed the build last year (Sept. 2016). Some of you might remember seeing it. I haven't done anything to it since then, and it has only been driven a couple times. It was a really fun...

Savox can be loud, I almost always use the same model, some make noise and others not a peep. Go figure. I saw a review online that showed Turnigy 1258 is basically identical but around $40. I may try one.
do they give full PDF archives with pictures or just rsandom pages?

Well I'll give you a lesson the handful of dirt oval racers (myself included) have learned. The way to get the coverage you're looking for us certainly not by being negative about what you HAVE received. From any magazines side of it, we look at not...
