Please help me get my old 834B up to full strength

Post by JimTMich »

Hi guys, I would like to get my old Yokomo 834B running in 4wd again. I bought this new when I was around 13 at the Toledo show. Did a lot of the mods a young man could afford, nothing crazy.

I dug it out of the box the other day because my youngest was really interested in it. We got it running with an old RS540, but I couldn't find the dogbones for the front end.

Just got him a ECX Boost and his car blows this Yokomo away.

So I would like to buy some dogbones for the front end, I have the chain and battery holder, and delta slipper clutch. Then I'll put that Trinity Sprint back in :)

What dogbones should I use for the front end?

Thanks
Jim

Front dogbones for the 834b are part # ZB-9, which occassionally show up on eBay and again sometimes in the BST Forum here.

You will need to check and see what the rules are for gaining access to BST. The rules for BST access are in the BST forum so not sure if you will be able to view them but here is the link:

And it you google "834B site:www.rc10talk.com" you will get a few real good threads on this cool car. There are a handful of folks on this board who have made good modern runners for themselves.

And Al brings up a good point. If you are at all ebay savy, searches of Yokomo ZB can get you new parts, as all the parts start with ZB. Just a little tip...Yokomo is one of those that never put cars on their header cards, so some sellers have no idea what they are selling. Overall, auctions with 834b and/or RPS in the description will get more views and go a little higher than the parts just listed like "Yokomo ZB-.... I have no idea what this fits".

Start a 're-build' thread for it and it shouldn't take you long at all to get your count up. Once you get access there won't be any posted and you'll find them on ebay anyway  . Wait...thats the story of my life  . post lots of pix in your rebuild thread...we like pictures 8)

There aren't any other dogbones that would work with or without modification are there?
