Hi Rod I dropped 3 of the rere cards from rcx at the south store before I left. For you, Ian and Doug.... hope you got them?slotcarrod wrote:Dude I have 4 on order, 2 for me and another 2 for Anthony, then 6 more for the shelf! Not sure what the South store ordered but the distributor says they are going nuts with orders!
If this works as a money maker for AE, (and I think it will) After the Stealth tranny, maybe we will see a Team Car, Worlds Car or how about a white plastic 10T? That would be cool as hell!
Happy AE has not forgot their heritage! OhHow about a RC12is or a RC500 for the future????

I would be all up in that!

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
I just ordered 5 kits. I think it will be 2015 before the orders are filled.
I can't wait to flip em on eBay so I can get 10 more.
I heard the anodizing from the China kits is not going to be orange but instead a nice pale yellow.
I'm only kidding of course.
One additional thing I was told at RCX by associated at the show is that parts orders from hobby shops are on the decline for current kits. It appears people who buy rtr kits don't buy parts. The re release was an idea to bring back some profit where profit is declining. Bottom line I'm sure AE is fully aware that we retro enthusiasts stuck in the 80's are suckers for buying mass quantities of parts without regard for whether we will use them or not.

Guys - one key question - white parts confirmed, or just assumed?

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
but where or by who??? the preorder pages from the big retailers don't mention a plastic color at all... and the pics we saw at RCX are not of a production version but of enthusiast's shelf queens... not trying to be an a$$, just asking myself whether I'm missing somethingRC10resto wrote:confirmed

The 2000 figure simply has to be nonsense doesn't it? Across the whole Internet every poster seems to have ordered a couple of them. They will upset a lot of people if that figure really is the truth.

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
well... top loaders, beefed up tranny, modded battery boxes, for instance...mtbkym01 wrote:Fair call, but my point remains with regard to this one then

listen, I'm not saying this is a bad thing at all. All I'm saying is, somehow I'm not all pumped up as I expected to be if this ever happened (which we thought it never would, by the way!). I'm not trying to poop the party, but when the Grasshopper or the VLB or the Boomy were rere'd, I ordered several of them... Somehow, with the RC10 "classic" I just can't get in the groove and it irks me as I don't know why - maybe because of a certain lack of information so far? Just sharing my feelings here as a genuine vintage RC and RC10 enthusiasm since the mid-90's when I got my first paychecks

As said, I will likely buy one or two... but I can't bring myself to push the "preorder" button... maybe I'll regret it later, but then again I have plenty enough "real" RC10's already
