Re: And then cancer came along....
Just to give an update on our situation. We have now relocated back south to Tracy's parents and we are settling in ok. Being close to both our families will be a god send.
Over the past couple of weeks she has been through numerous tests and small ops with the last being a tumer the size of a golf ball removed from her neck. We have one last final consult with the Haemotologist that will guide her treatment this Wednesday. This will decide her exact course of Chemo and the Chem's they will be using. Right now we know it will be 4 months of fortnightly Chemo followed by a month of Radiation treatment 5 days per week. After that I am guessing more tests which will determine if treatment worked.
No doubt there are countless people who have it a lot worse. As this time we know she is at stage two with 'unfavourable' (what ever that means?) cancer cells. The doc is pretty sure we can get this thing dealt with and says she has an 80% chance of success beating it.
We have our fingers crossed.
I thank you all for your continued support and suggestions.
Cheers- Jason

Re: And then cancer came along....
Sadly my wife's condition has come off a little worse than first thought. The initial diagnoses has now changed with new test results revealing other areas affected which include her lungs. This has now resulted in diagnoses going from a stage2 to stage4. Now the chems have stepped up from ABVD to BEARCOPP. Essentially the BEARCOPP carries with is greater risks and further symptoms.
With the initial shock now passed we are now taking steps to best deal with the treatment and her condition. Our two children are well cared for and adjusting to the changes without a hitch.
Having family and friends around for support is such a bonus.
Even though we are still in the early stages of this thing I can say that the support and well wishes we have received actually make a real difference for us.
Thank you to all those who have extended their well wishes. We greatly appreciate this at this trying time in our lives.

Jason, my wife and I are saddened to here the latest news. It seems like you two have a great web of support and I'm glad to hear that the kids are in good hands through this all. We are sending positive vibes from western Canada.

Your situation is a reminder of how trivial most problems really are. My heart goes out to you and your family once again. Please continue to think positive regardless of what this disease throws at you. Every case is different and hope is eternal. The human organism is a resilient sort.

Hey Jason, As you know we are close by and will help in any way we can.
Our daily prayers and the kids schools prayers are with you.
As a survivor of cancer myself, our family has an idea of what you are going through.
The days ahead wont be easy but you all need to stay strong, remain positive and beat this terrible disease.

Jason I'm not much of a prayer guy myself - so instead I will try to send as many positive brainwaves through the globes to Tracy, your kids and you

Re: And then cancer came along....
This is just awful Jason. A close friend (whom only recently married and I was best man) has recently been diagnosed with bowel cancer aged just 32. He's just had his 3rd round of chemo and fighting it hard. It too has spread to his lungs. To make matters worse his wife is 15 weeks pregant, when they told us this news it was a complete head-fcuk, and still is.
Its such an awful thing and certainly puts all the things we do in life into perspective. Good to know that you have alot of support from your friends and family, it will help you through no doubt.
Best wishes.
Ben
