So, looks like this August we're going to have a ton of build threads and comparisons to the original parts.

So...any word on how a mechanical speed control will work with a lipo?
From his mouth "yeah, this is a kit JUST like the original!
but no mechanical esc iin the kit!"

I'm using my connections for this one!

So now do we have to add a "retro RC10" section? I mean, there's obviously going to be a huge amount of new RC10 builds that are anything but vintage.
Was there anything at RCX about a B5?

I really do not think these are going to be limited. They are going to sell tens of thousands.
I suspect this site may bet a huge boost over the next year or so with new members and
their identical cars.
So glad I didn't spend a fortune on a gold pan when I was looking a while back. Those who
recently sold their expensive originals either had good timimg or knew something. Now I am
wondering how long would the delay be before other variations are released?

Mines pre-ordered also, just 1 at this stage, may still get an original to sit alongside it

Just preordered x2 kits. Awesome news in my view. Can only help the hobby by increasing interest with new enthusiasts. Seems that soooo many people have fond memories of their experience with the original RC10 but have not been able to afford the cost of a vintage kit, but will now be able to step back in time!
And hopefully there will be a reinvigorated interest for people to produce some yummy custom parts!

Do, or do not! There is no 'try'!
RC; Boats, Buggies, Trucks, Bash's, Racing and of course 'VINTAGE'!

One thing to remember is that it was said from early on the parts will be distinguishable from the originals. This should make it a little bit better for the collectors Yet allow new people to enjoy these old cars. I really do see it as a win – win for the hobby in general.
Now it kind of makes me wonder how many of these companies like RPM are lying about their molds just as we have been told that associated molds were long gone as well. Hmmm

meh, you zany kids. I never understood the facination or excitement around re-releases. build threads are just going to be "build thread of random 2013 release car with easily accessable parts"
oh, and I do vote for a re-re subsection...just so I can avoid it

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
Hi guys, new member here. I'm a Tamiya nut first & foremost and am a regular on Tamiyaclub but have been wanting an original RC10 for a long time so this news has got me doing cartwheels. I can see me frequenting this place a lot over the coming weeks, months, years and am all of a sudden taking a lot more interest in AE products.
Quick question though....what is the original like to build compared to the likes of a Tamiya? I have read comments in the past that it was a pain in the butt so do we think that they will update the build manual or include the original version of that too?
So many other questions but this will do for now.

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
I have been looking to find more info on what is actually being rereleased. Is it the first production model or is it a later CE version? Or are there going to be a few different models?
Thanks- Jason

Re: Intriguing ad in RC Car Action - RC10 re-release?
The picture of the AE dude looks like a CE car so I dunno, all the other pictures all point to the old 6 gear car.
The problem will be with kit strippers or people trying to sell new parts as new vintage parts. I'm also surprised AE hasn't any press release on the new car now that the word is out.
