Novak Rooster battery + motor questions.

Post by K-TOWN-KITT »

I want to get about 6 Stealth buggies running at the same time. I also want to get them pretty well matched up. The same esc's, same turn motors, and the same battery packs. I have a bunch of Novak Roosters and Super Roosters. All of the following logic is part fact, part fiction, and part questions. Please help me figure out which is which.

The roosters are 100 amps and 15 turn limit and Super Roosters are 240 amps and unlimited winds. In one of the buggies I have a 15 turn HPI UNO that I am running with a Rooster and it is pleanty fast with a 2800 20c 2s lipo. The motor and esc. get fairly warm but never had a problem in 5 or 6 years, 2 of witch I have used the lipo. I am going to buy up some 15 turn motors and want to buy at least 6 batteries. I'm pretty sure I want to go with ni-mh. I don't quite remember how to calculate what batteries to use. If I recall the battery is only going to discharge what the motor can suck out of it. So I should be able to go as high as I want in mah. Kind of what Novak is saying is that a 15 turn motor sucks up about 100 amps.

How high do you guys think I should go with? 2500, 3000, 4200, 5000?
Should I go 6 or 7 cell?
Where can I go besides fEbay? ( I heard Avid rc? )

Any help would be great. Thanks.
