new mwmbwe and questions on RC10 compatibility

Post by AYKBOBCAT »

Hi
I just found this site... Great. I am am a long time RC10 fan (I have 2 with Sassis Chassis conversions and I am begining to restore a RC10T).

I am wondering how easy it would be to build a buggy which would be a composite of many models. I like the Sassis chassis (I have an extra) and I'd like to have an all alu buggy. I want to drive it... I don't want a museum specimen... and I don't want to take a loan to buy my parts...

I know a lot of the RC10GT alloy parts will fit (like the Team Blue Star parts). What about B3/B4 Suspension arms? Is it the same geometry as the old gold tub buggy? Same mounting holes? What about the new Stealth tranny? I know it is not a direct fit but assuming I drill the holes am I going to end up with problems like dog boes too long owr whatever?

Anyone here has done something like that?

Any suggestions/photos would be greeeeaaaatly appreciated.

Cheers

well, i know it is possible to make anything you can think of. but an org. rc10, compared to a b2, b3, and the b4, is a completely different animal. everything you asked about, geometry, mounting points, etc., are different.

i'll post some pics for ya later.

Hey scr8p

Could you post a pict like the second one but for the rear of the car?

Is it me or the B2 also had a metal chassis at one point? I vaguely remember another kind of aluminum (black) tub chassis from associated...

the second pic is the rear end of the t3. i could be wrong, but as far as i know, the b2 had a composite chassis. the t2 had an aluminum tub type chassis that was different from an original one.

someone correct me if i'm wrong.......................

Thanks That's what I needed

Are the T2 and B2 chassis switchables? I mean can you have an aluminum tub B2? Silly question but just wondering...

Curious to see what it would look like...

i'm not totally sure. i know the t3 chassis is about a 1/2" longer than the b2 and b3. but, i don't know if the t2 is the same lenght as a t3. the t2 could be the same as the b2 and b3.
