According to the guys on Wrecked, what most commonly happens is when the roadway is retopped, they just add a layer over the existing surface, then forget to change the height signs. There could be a bit of this going on, but me thinks that vehicles have just gotten too big and drivers too stupid to know better.

Too stupid to know better, for sure.

Well even the truckers know if they are within a few inches under the posted height limit they double check before they go through, because of repaving a street and the road crew not remeasuring after they are done. The trucker that got stuck under the train bridge told me that :lol: Don't know where his brain was, but he said he was under the posted height in his defense. :roll:

Yeah, chances are when there's a low bridge like this, it's an old one. Built way back when commercial trucks were a lot smaller.
