New reproduction and Protype parts
Start a new thread for this one.
The first part back from prototyping is the the XX front bulkhead. It got moved up in the schedule and is done earlier than expected.
Original on left, new multi-piece prototype on the right.
The new design will be easier to make and allow people to only have to replace the portion that is broken and not tear apart the whole front of car to replace.
I now have to test everything, already found the top brace holes are little small and have to be made larger. Then there is also a problem with the gap between them that must be adjusted.
i will have pictures of other stuff in the near future as they get done.
Dan

Man I just ordered a new old stock one from a online retailer for 50.00. Wish I knew this was coming out. Is this something that will be sold eventually, you know incase I break the one I just got.

Re: New reproduction and Protype parts
Hopefully this year they will be done. Can't give a better date than that right now.
It all depends if I put the new bulkhead in a mold by itself or with other parts. That is proving right now to be a hard choice to make, the molds cost a small fortune and it kind of makes sense to do multiple parts at once. It lowers total costs for that mold per part.
Ideally you want to add another part that is going to have near equal demand so that when you need to make more you don't have a bunch of parts you don't really need. The brace might be the ideal candidate to go in the mold. But I don't think demand is as near as high for it as bulkhead.

Re: New reproduction and Protype parts
if you are actually molding these and have an open mold for whatever design, do rc10 rear arm mounts. those will be sellers for sure.

Re: New reproduction and Protype parts
I have thought about it. I would love to do rc10 stuff, but I don't have unused example parts like I do Losi stuff. I have a big box of new Team Losi parts just for reproduction needs. I am sure there is more demand for a lot of those parts compared to the Losi stuff, but I don't know those parts well enough.

I'm not up on the losi parts that break, but From memory I recall selling a lot of the upper brace that hinges to the bulkhead and also the rear hub carriers which rc10 folk love to use as well

Re: New reproduction and Protype parts
Oops, I guess that could have been read not the way I intended. I know the Losi demand on the Losi stuff VERY well. The rc10 stuff is my weakness.

Re: New reproduction and Protype parts
Well which ever you decide to do, I think its great that you are taking the time to do this. Which will hopefully offer a lower cost option for some that want to keep running their vintage cars/trucks. Thanks you.

Maybe front arms for the xx those are getting super rare to find and do break when racing hard

Brilliant! I love the two-part design, great idea!
Great to see someone out there making parts to keep our precious vintage racers on the track & keeping the costs down!

Re: New reproduction and Protype parts
So since these losi xx parts are consider reproduction, then losi can't give you any problems right?
