Kyosho Ferrari? I think F40, but not sure... Searches are so diluted with mini-z and static model stuff, I can't figure out whats what when digging around for "Kyosho Ferrari" and related stuff.
Remembered I had this well worn chassis while building my DS.

Yes, Ferrari Testarossa. The F40 version used an Optima base if I remember correctly. It will help some if you add "scale car series" to your searching as thats the line it's from.

In the US, the F40 was also based on the scale series chassis (kelron ultima chassis). Outside the US, they used the optima mid with the slotted aluminum chassis.

Hmm that helps. I kept seeing Kyosho Ferrari's with the Mid set-up.
This thing is pretty worn. I might as well just run it or something. Not worth restoring...

Looks like a Composite Craft.

Nice thing about used graphite chassis is JB Weld and a can of spray paint is a lot cheaper and simpler then welding and re-anodizing.

This is real good info, I've never had complete knowledge on the Kyosho Porsche rally car I have (new built purchased from Dan of Dan's R/C stuff). He told me that he never knew exactly what it was as companies he had a relationship with would just drop ship him stuff. He also said the body was borrowed by a friend and never returned , it was supposedly real nice.

#1 is definitely an Optima Mid chassis, very likely a long wheel base version.

#2 whatever chassis it is, it's an oval chassis.

#2 is a Duran Duran oval chasis.
