Re: Guns!
X2 on the Super 90. Not so much of a fan after that. Got a new 3 1/2" SBE somewhere in the mid 90's after the change from HK. What a pile that was. Stove piped about every 3 1/2 shell and wouldn't cycle most others, real expensive single shot. Went back 3 times and to the local gunsmith many times with no luck. Three of my friends had similar problems. Traded off for a Winchester Super X2. 15 years of trouble free use (replaced the firing pin and spring last year). I haven't had much experience with Benelli since. They must have gotten something figured out as they are still in business.

Re: Guns!
Thought about picking up an AR lower for building one eventually, but it's insane how everything is sold out. I'm not paying ridiculous prices either so I'll sit tight I guess, unsure of what is to come regarding laws.
I now have a Colt AR with several 20 and 30 round mags, but no ammo to be found. I suppose I could go buy a box of 50 or 100 rounds, but any purchases of more bulk ammo seem to be on permanent backorder.
Anyone else encountering the same crazy shortages? Pistol prices are up noticeably in the last few weeks on armslist, too.

Re: Guns!
have you tried aimsurplus.com or ammoman.com?
the sportsmansguide used to be a good source also.
are you looking only at brass ammo? the steel cased, polymer coated wolf is fantastic, i've never had a failure.

This happens on about a 12 year cycle, the ammo condition is acute and will level out. Your doing the right thing waiting it out.flipwils11 wrote:Thought about picking up an AR lower for building one eventually, but it's insane how everything is sold out. Re: Guns!
Just be patient, had this problem 4 years ago and ammo will become avail. Me personally, I reload ammo. between my ammo for the Bushmaster 223, the 1911 built by Wilson Combat arms and my 357 Desert Eagle, its to expensive for weekend shoots if I constantly go and buy ammo.

Re: Guns!
Thread resurrection!
I got my carry permit for MN (96% on my shooting proficiency test!) and also purchased this, an H&K P30LS with the v1 trigger in .40 S&W. LOVE this thing, already have about 500 rounds through it.

I am looking at smaller .40 S&W carry pistols like the H&K P2000sk now for my carry weapon.
Also got a nice Fort Knox bedside safe for my 357 magnum. I really like the simplex lock.

Re: Guns!
Some nice guns in this thread. I am the proud owner of three guns. A Glock 23, an Ithaca (a real Ithaca) featherlite 20 gauge, and a tactical Ruger 10/22. I love them all, and would recommend either of them highly. My Glock has never once failed to fire or cycle, and I am usually shooting the cheapest ammo I can find. I keep a mag of the good stuff handy in case I ever actually have to use it. The Ithaca is simply beautiful, and has never let me down. The Ruger, Imho, is one of the best all-around guns ever,I think everyone should own one.

Re: Guns!
Adam, what was the qual course for MN like? Draw from concealed/range distance etc?
Glock 22 is my daily carry, (my 1911 doesn't print as much though) this is my 4th Glock, they have always been rock solid.
X 2 on the 10/22...I spent a long time behind a mil-dot scope, so I built my 10/22 with a heavy barrel in long-range trim in "mini PSS/M4" trim

Re: Guns!
Awesome thread. I've always wanted to buy a revolver. I guess watching Clint Eastwood movies as a kid was an influence. A modern version like a S&W would be lovely. Shame we cannot import them into the UK.

Re: Guns!
Thanks guys, you have to shoot at a few distances, one and two handed. I cheated a bit and used 38 special rounds in my 357 mag, it was like shooting a 22, lol.
Demonstrate handgun proficiency by obtaining a minimum score of 70% (105 out of a maximum of 150 points), on a Transtar II target.
Participants will shoot a total of 30 rounds, from distances of 15, 25, and 50 feet.

I grow up in a getto called chester right outside philly.so close that they call the casino (which there is a prison in front of) harras of philly now lol.anyway guns were bad to me never liked them cause i saw what bad people could do with them.my pop(who carried a.38)said fight with you hands cause win or loose you fight another day.well that worked for me.even my wife then girl friend couldnt believe i didnt carry concidering the company i kept.i was around enough people we did carry not to care.besides my size was enough to make most think twice.but when we moved to pine grove and i went to a gun range for the first time i was in love.that day i got my 1st gun a glock.40cal.the next day i went to get my permit to carry concealed.now we (my self my son my wife) own over 24bang sticks.my whole out take has change.i wouldnt even allow my son to have toy guns.my wife and i did go threw a gun safty class so we had a better understanding on how to shoot when to shoot and who to shoot lol kinding about last part.target shooting is a every weekend thing here when we are not 4wheeling.i carry a. 38 s&w or my. 45. My wife carrys a. 380 s&w.now i love guns because it a sport for us and another addiction as well.
