 No. Friggen. Way!

Man, I hope this is true. I'll buy one, put it together, the beat the snot out of it like I did with the one I bought back in the day. The Fox was my first real rc car, I hope this is true!

its cool for people that had them back in the day. i just get upset when the new reres come out and its not a blackfoot based rc.. even a 58040 – Tamiya Lancia Rally or superblackfoot/bushdevil would be nice.

It looks like a Hotshot. Is it basically a 2wd Hotshot? I was deprived and only ever had an RC10 when I was younger

Mine as well. The hobby store guy said it would be easier than the RC10. That sealed chassis was a PITA. Still loved it though.

it's kind of a 2WD hotshot, just as much as a PITA to work on... this sealed the fate of its racing carreer!!!

The sealed chassis was what kept me from getting one back then. I got a Falcon instead, and a bunch of hop-ups. But nowadays, stick a 2.4 ghz receiver and an auto-setup ESC in there, and you may never have to open it up. As for the front end, we're hoping they've come to their senses and made the optional swaybar standard.

I need another plastic-fantastic Tamiya car like I need a hole in the head, but something tells me I'll end up with one of these...

Independent rear suspension [Fox] works much better than the monoshock used in the HotShot. 8)

The biggest issue I recall from our tracks bitd is the motor mounted in the back. The flimsy plastic cage that is supposed to protect the motor is no match for a gold tub noseplate. I remember a lot of grinding gears as the impact would just snap the trans housing at the motor mount. I also remember a few people who raced them having a spare complete rear end ready to go in just such an emergency. 8)

That said, if the price is right I would love to have one! It must mean the Foxes were in front of someone if the back ends were getting damaged, right??
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.
