Re: Retro Wings
They look like Yokie wings to me as well, but the colours are wrong! I wonder if someone tried dying some white wings and ended up with these?

Re: Retro Wings
As soon as I have them in hand I'll try and get some better lit shots, I suspect they're not home brewed as the seller had multiples of the same colours.

Re: Retro Wings
I know they aren't kimbrough unless kimbrough made different end plates. I'm going by the shape of the endplates and rake. I can't say I have an academy NIP so no experience to go by.
Is academy UK based?

Re: Retro Wings
cool, glad to learn something new (like usual from you guys) around here. I've seen some academy stuff but just haven't seen enuf to know anything about them. Here are a few comparison shots of some wings I have. The one on the left is the same as the one in the middle. Had a yokomo header card with it but possibly not for it. All of the other parts had header cards but that doesnt mean anything. The one in the middle is a zc-108 yokomo wing and the one on the right is a kimbrough 127p pink wing.

The yokomo wings have markings on the bottom in 2 rows with a center row to get your wing mount holes drilled correctly.
I've got a NIP green (maybe AE?) that I can't put my hands on at the moment since its packed away with a project and just don't know where
but I know its very similar to the vibrant color of Al's picture of the one he sold. Either way, hope this helps. Can't wait to see pix of synergy's wings once they arrive...
Todd

Re: Retro Wings
Synergy's wings are 100% Yokomo shape- the MRC is the same side plates but lack the rounded inner edge that the Yokomo's have- the gold wing is the only thing that is really making me question it....
BTW Todd, that faded pink ZC-108 will re-dye, or just dye black-

Re: Retro Wings
Thanx Reggie and good to know. My first red wing to black must not have been a good enuf attempt. Will try to get that red wing black again next time around.Charlie don't surf wrote:BTW Todd, that faded pink ZC-108 will re-dye, or just dye black-
The gold is really gnawing at me also. Been searching for awhile and looking back at a bunch of searches and no findings of anything gold related to these wings on the forums as of yet. Might be some prototype color run that will make synergy the next millionaire of the r/c world

Re: Retro Wings
A quick sneaky phone shot of the markings on the underside.

The colours of the wings are pretty much as the first post shows.

Re: Retro Wings
Wow, I guess you should never be too sure of yourself because that's when a new color Yokie wing pops up and bites you in the butt!
