Wescom/Hirobo Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 rally car.
Wasn't looking to add another car, but this one just kinda feel in my lap and I thought it was too cool to pass up. I will probably put an esc in this and run it once in a while, but mostly it will just sit on the shelf looking cool as all get out.
It doesn't look like it had that much run time on it. The body is very cool and was apparently molded in three pieces, left right and center, then bonded together. Has a little damage but is in pretty good shape for its age. I don't know much about these cars so any info would be appreciated. The red sticker on the car says rally Monte Carlo 1885-1985, and the car came with an old Duratrax nicad that has a hand written date on it that reads 9/23/89.

The body looks pure white in the pics, but it is actually mintage green.
Also, every screw has a blob of silicon on it. To keep them from backing out I guess?

Interesting car! I like it. What part of Houston are you in? I'm in Spring.

Re: Wescom/Hirobo Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 rally car.
I used to race at least once a weekend, but haven't been doing it much in the last couple years. I want to get back into it, but it just seems like I never have the time or money. Where do you race mostly? The last time I raced was at M&M, the last few times before that were at Mikes. K&M was my favorite track before they closed down. Were you on 2cool? Me and Biff (Gary, BRT) tried to get a vintage class going years ago but it never really caught on. Seems like there are a lot of guys on here fr OP on o out area, maybe we should give it another go.

Re: Wescom/Hirobo Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 rally car.
I haven't raced since I moved here (7 years ago) but there's a new "basher" track that just opened on 249 south of Spring Cypress and I've been there the last two Saturdays.
I want to get back in to racing and would love to get a vintage class going somewhere. Mike's is about as far as I'd be willing to drive though. (I hate going towards downtown!) It just gets too expensive to go much farther than that.
I don't have a currently running vintage car but I've got a boatload of parts that should be arriving this week so that I can hopefully get my OIN car up and running.
What is 2cool?

2cool was the local forum for racers, but they have moved it all over to RC files now. I didn't know about that basher track, who owns that? Have you been to Randy's? They do parking lot racing there every other weekend.

I don't remember what the owner's name is but he's a customer of Randy's and they're the ones that told me about it. It's $8 a day and it's a pretty simple outdoor track but I've been having a blast out there. http://www.nwhoustonrctrack.com/

I can't watch the video. It says content owner had not approved it for mobile viewing. I am going to take a wild guess and say that I do not live near him.RC10resto wrote:Do you guys live near Archie Bell

Going to have to check that out one of these days. I have waiting for a track to open on this side of town. The drive is a big pat of the reason I don't get out to race much anymore. From magnolia it is at least an hour to Mikes, and that is only if traffic is good.hawgfanman wrote:I don't remember what the owner's name is but he's a customer of Randy's and they're the ones that told me about it.
