READ THIS == How to Get Access to the Buy/Sell Area ==
1. You must be at least 16 years old to get in to the BST.
2. You must have contributed at least 25 meaningful posts before access will be granted. DO NOT attempt to pad your post count.
3. After you've reached 25 posts, you must contact one of the administrators through ebay to ask for BST Access. Please make sure to include your RC10Talk screen name in the message so we know who you are. Also, do not send an e-mail to every admin. Choose one, and be patient. this is a list of the forum admins, along with their Ebay I.D.'s:
Badhoopty - Badhoopty (ebay)
MelvinsArmy - alissonchains (ebay)
scr8p - 55chevcars (ebay)
mrlexan - mrlexan (ebay)
shodog - shodog1 (ebay)
Please don't PM the administrators for BST access, unless you do not have an ebay account (see below). we'll only let you in if we're contacted through ebay.
If you do not have an ebay ID, you must:
1. Be a member of RC10Talk for at least 1 month.
2. Have contributed at least 25 meaningful posts.
After you reach those requirements, PM one of the admins. listed above about gaining access.
These are the rules we have set up to help protect our members. When you get BST access, you're on your own. Just remember to use your head, like with other online transaction.

You've been a member for 3 1/2 years and have over 25 posts. Your ebay account doesn't really matter. You meet the requirements of someone without an ebay account.

2. Well I have more than 25 post. If they are meaningful or not is up for discussion.

3. I eBay messaged scr8p - 55chevcars (ebay) last Friday. Thinking maybe it did not reach him, or he is no longer active I tried Badhoopty - Badhoopty (ebay) yesterday. Still no "magical appearance of BS section".
Since I violated the "choose one and be patient" part - have I blown my chance for BS for good? Should I delete my account and start over?

How long is patient? I have a problem with that, I hate the stuff (patience) and know little about it.
I'd PM one of the above to see what is up, but it says not to do that. So posting here.
Re: B/S/T approval
Nah, you really have a great chance for more BS. Take this post for example!CBR240 wrote:Since I violated the "choose one and be patient" part - have I blown my chance for BS for good?

Stick around, a 10Talk professional will be with you shortly...

Re: B/S/T approval
Well I sent this to 55chevycars last Friday, is there a typo in the name? Looking now I see there is. I needed 55chevcars.scr8p wrote:If you sent me an email, I never got it.
I'll try again to 55chevcars.

OK, tried again, hopefully got the right person this time. I really hate eBay messaging.
I also eBay messaged badhoopty yesterday, did I get that one incorrect also? That was probably the patience thing wasn't it?

Re: B/S/T approval
hoopty doesn't come around much at all these days, which is why his name has been taken of the list of admins to contact.

Re: B/S/T approval
This place is a lot more than just BST. If the rules for access weed out folks that just want to sell or buy then so be it. You'll go a long way in search of a more diverse and knowledgable bunch of vintage enthusiasts. People come and people go but if you really have an enthusiastic bone in your body for this kind of thing then you'll establish yourself here with us by sharing your interests in r/c, your collection or even tips.
It's really not hard to generate a post count. Get busy sharing with us and we'll gladly share with you.

Re: B/S/T approval
Thanks J.M - I understand. I have found this forum a great source of information. Some of the threads here are just astounding, from the tech info, to actual talk with "the guys" from "back in the day" (GREAT stuff).
I've been out of RC (well mainly, did run my RC10 once or twice a year) for over 15 years. Compared to most people here, I don't have much to offer. My 90 CE didn't even have a stealth trans (I do have one now, and and also an alloy one thanks to Rogue Element Components), so my knowledge is rather limited to RC 10 CE and before stealth.
I explained all this is my "Hello thread":
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=29889
And if you don't believe that I have little to offer, here's proof of how confused I am:
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=30592
You sure you want me posting here?
And above, I wasn't doing the Cartman ("@ you guys I'm going home"
) I was trying to humorously (but obviously failed) point out I was not understanding if I had violated the rules in some way, or offended someone, that yielded the "no BST for you" (in best soup Nazi tone,
, BTW - I read that in the thread about requiring location and enjoyed that, not trying to call anyone a Nazi).
scr8p - I got Badhoopty - Badhoopty (ebay) from the 2nd post in this thread. I did not notice he had been removed in the other thread.
