They bring back memories. Not sure if they're what he has but I think Tonka made one about that size. As kids we used to sit on and ride them down the alley. Went through a lot of sneakers. Still not as dangerous as going down a steep hill on a big green mean machine. Only tried that once - that was enough.

I'll tell ya what Bob, I'll buy a one-way plane ticket and help you organize all that old junk. Heck, I'll even wear a maid's outfit and dust off those old cars. Ok, maybe not the last part.

I'd like to see pics of the SR5 cars you have.

That collection is mind-blowing, Bob...but let me be honest and say, if it was me, and my collection had grown so large to the point it was causing me stress--just seeing all that stuff needing to be sorted would just overwhelm me--it'd be time for a serious sale. I mean, I just look at my Charger in the garage and when I start thinking about all the sh!t that needs to be done before it'll be nice enough to drive, it gets a bit depressing. I guess I need to focus my attention on something specific rather than the big picture or it would discourage me--I need to focus on the baby steps and not the journey.

But with that hoard of yours...whoa!

Of course, if you have any decent aluminum wheels for Kyoshos, feel free to PM me, I can help you "reorganize" some of your stock.

Vintage R/C Fantasy Camp.
where do we sign up???
RC summer camp! Rather than sell your stuff by the item, make them pay you $500 for a week where they get to help you organize your stuff and they get to build their own vintage car to take back home.

Thanks for sharing the pics Bob.
I always enjoy seeing collections, and yours definitely tops them all.
I believe many of us would be in the same position as you, had we been involved in the R/C industry as you have been all these years.
If you ever did come to selling items, I'm sure there are plenty of people more than eager to get their hands on the prized possessions you have photographed, myself included.
Once again thanks for sharing and would love to see more pics of your collection anytime.

I'd like to see the winks and nods about "wanted" items not derail this cool thread please-

Thanks for sharing Bob, I think the wall of cars on shelves put it over the top for me. I agree, that just having RC fantasy land for people to visit would be really entertaining.

Thanks guys,

It's a little overwhelming.

Thoughts on vintage races: I kinda quit running some of the old stuff. Last time we were out on our dirt oval I brought out an old RC10 based oval car (all proud of myself for getting it ready and prepping it, holding it up in the air like it was the Stanley cup...lol...) the guys teased me about the "grandpa car". :P I couldn't make it through a pack without snapping a part on it. The plastic is starting to get brittle on some of the older cars. I could boil it and soften it up again... But I went through 2 arms and 3 mounts that night. I don't want to risk breaking to many hard to get parts. ;)
I enjoy, Schumacher 1/12th, Checkpoint motors, Lazerlite motors, PB Sizzler, Pro Panther-10, Dialed Speed Controls, Paranoia spurs.

you should come out to connecticut in september for the vintage offroad nationals.
see how "grandpa's" cars do! they do quite well, plus if it's at the same venue as last year there's a really nice dirt oval there too!
