Hopefully a worlds play toy. update. scored a graphite steal

Post by alien3t »

WEll back int he day had a RC10CE about a year before the Stealth was out. Friend of mine had a Graphite Stealth model when they did. Hung on to the car, (got it in 1990). played with it for a bit never hit a track. never modified. So before EBAY came around or got big. I sold it for 20 bucks at the hobby store i worked at. (i regret it to this day). and about a year or 2 later. We were taking down displays. Well i got the brand new built from a box then hun on a wall for a few years RC10 worlds car. Brand new. all original. Sold it for $50. mind you this was 1998 i sold the CE, and 1999 i sold the worlds. Again i regret. (same as my HPI Nitro Mini, and xx4 worlds.

Well finishing up a xx4, (and slowly working on a couple nitro traxxas rustlers). Decided i want to build what i want. and i will run it at OCRC for fun.
Today ordeerd a couple parts from SEbula, (ordered xx4 parts from them before, cheap good prices on some stuff).
Just worlds front arms, inline blocks and axles. to start. PRobably use b3 style front wheels. Need to read about using b4 pin rear wheels maybe hex rear?

Decided im going to build a worlds style car.
Hopes.
Graphite associated chassis, (might talk to a buddy at associated, he has sheets of not cut or drilled sheets with the kick up, and if possible may consider making the length of todays b4.2?).
all black plastic,
stealth trans
convert to use todays tires
use the shocks from my b44 (converting that to a 44.2)
and todays electronics.
graphite parts,
current associated blue screws
and current associated Blue ti turnbuckles.
There is a guy on ebay selling worlds style graphite shock towers and battery brace, all around 18 bucks each. So not going for a looker. (course had to look pretty once).

Dont know what is for sale on here, Since i dont have enough posts, and well try not to make pointless ones. (been on some forums for 5 years, and barely hit what people hit in the first week).

Watching builds on here. has got me wanting to go at this.
Also in works is my Brothers and MIne original frogs. Been some fun parts popping up to make them a little more fun, IE front shock towers, better shocks, and adjustable motor plates. (and all this while building my daughters 1966 VW type 1 ).

Sounds like the makings of a great car. If you find out anything about the graphite chassis, I'm interested in a stock length chassis.

Yeah got to check with him, IT was sheets of the graphite, with kick up, all uncut, undrilled. When associated use to throw parts away, (yes, lots of this stuff on ebay, back at the costa mesa address they actually would throw a lot of stuff away). He would keep some of it. need to see what he has left.

Well plans change foe the easier.
Owner of team scream threw up stiff on rcteh. One being a rc10 graphite with stealth. 60 shipped. All white parts. But I'll work with that. Run the 1/4 inch adapters to b4 wheels . Change to worlds style graphite parts. Black arms and spindles d carriers. V2 b44.1 shocks and a 17.5 set up with li-po. 60 shipped for a whole car minis wheels is better than I guess the guy on eBay wanting 65 for a graphite chassis byitself.

He still has a car rc10 with a modified composite craft chassis MIP trans for 6 gear time rpm arms for 40 bucks.
And a complete 10t all stock for 90 shipped.

Nice score! I want a graphite car bad. This was the first RC10 I bought. I mowed lawns and raked leaves to buy the car when I was kid.. I have bid on two different graphite cars on ebay lost them. There is another one I'm going to try to buy.

Nice score on that graphite car, it should be a great start for a strong runner but I'm a little curious about this build...

That and I couldn't help but notice your Maisto diecast Notchback on your desk. I have a '64 Notchback project in the works (early stages) that I've owned since I was 16 :|

And more parts. I know I want Bob steering. Won the aluminum a&l on eBay. Picked up mor misc parts.

Still can't decide if I want to go all black without dye. Or just outboard parts in black with a black battery box. See if I can do the peroxide game on the white parts.
