TQ10 Stocker Build

I've had this new TQ chassis for a while now and decided to sit down and build it. I'm trying to make it fully stock with the exception of the steering. I added some MIP steering posts as I always thought they were cool bitd. Anyway here it is so far.

i was going to say that with that chassis (last design) you should be using the wide front arms and 4 hole front tower. but, i think some of the last short arm cars used it too.

I know , I have not seen one since I got it. I found it many years ago at a south jersey hobby shop called Parlor hobbies. It was in a bag but no header card so I don't know if it was pulled from a kit or what. Interesting shop for sure. You could get a hair cut and buy r/c parts and cars in the back. Nice guy with a ton of knowledge when it came to anything r/c. Wish places like that still were around, where you needed to drive out for parts not sit like a bump on log looking through thousands of pictures on a computer screen. I'm getting old I think
I thought about making it a long arm car but I really like the look of the short arms on this chassis. It's also drilled for a motor guard so it was most likely intended for long arms but not sure. Did the early chassis have a motor guard?

None of them had the guard, but the later chassis had the holes. Early chassis didn't. They had all 3 holes up front to mount a nose plate like the tubs had though. For whatever reason....

My first Associated car was a TQ10 and I was going to get to answer a question CORRECTLY for the first time in history, but scr8p stole my thunder! I love those cars though. I'm not sure a more rigid chassis was ever made.

I did not know this about the TQ10 rear holes, much like the graphite holes!

I completed more with this build. My goal was to build the chassis to look exactly like the manual pictures and use the correct T-4 esc, Futaba FP-S132H steering servo, Futaba FP-R102-JE receiver with a channel 70 crystal, Reedy SCE power pack and #6502 Reedy competition stock motor. I'm currently working on cutting out a new Andys Heathen body for it. My goal for the finished buggy is to look like the Ad for the TQ in the Jan. 1990 issue of RCCA magazine which shows a TQ with a red Andys heathen body. I'll post more pics when I get the body completed.
