Re: Little help with the T4.1
I hate to ask this but do you know the part number for the diff spring? I can't find it. The VTS slipper, is this a whole new slipper clutch?
Re: Little help with the T4.1
It looks like a spring comes with the kit, can you tell me which one you are talking about? Thanks.

Re: Little help with the T4.1
There is a kit or separate pieces. RC10.com go to the T4.1(FT) exploded diagram and all the parts are listed. Also the VTS is a new slipper, much better and uses 3 pads instead of 2- all parts are in the VTS kits to complete

Ok cool, so this will work for my truck and I should need no more parts to make it work right?

Re: Little help with the T4.1
Yup, you'll need one of your slipper pads and one slipper hub from the standard one.
Re: Little help with the T4.1

Re: Little help with the T4.1
Alright guys, the parts came today! New VTS Slipper Clutch and the ball diff. I put the diff together and was amazed at how smooth it was. I went ahead and installed the whole thing back on the truck. As I was doing this I noticed that it did not look like the dog bones fit anymore, they were just a bit to small. I thought about it for a while and took the diff case back out.
A this point I reinstalled the old diff just to see how the dog bones worked with it. The two diffs look like they are identically the same size but I thought I would do this anyway. I noticed something this time that I had never before, even with the stock out drives connected to the stock diff the dog bones looked like they were a little to short....I had never noticed it before.
I took it back out and put the new ball diff back in, same thing. I took the small orange o rings out of the old diff and put them in the new one to help shorten the distance, the new diff directions did not call for this but I knew it would not work without it because the dog bones are to short.
I put it all together and fired her up on a fresh battery. WOW! The truck ran like it has never ran before. Smooth as glass and just hauled butt! This went on for about 10 minutes and I was running hard because I have my doubts about the reliability of this truck. I am wondering now if m buddies telling me to go Traxxis were not right. Don't be mad at me guys, I'm really just pissed now.
A I said the thing was running great.......and then it happened. That damn grinding noise that I had heard before with the old diff. It happens during a turn when you are getting on it, when there is a load in it. I couldn't believe it. Because I had seen the dog bone problem earlier i looked there and sure enough one of them was out of the drive that comes off of the wheel, it is to damn short. During my run the orange o ring had fallen out letting the drive fall out as well. If I hold the truck and throttle it I watch the out drive spin past the doggone as it is wedged under the wheel just a bit. Hard to explain and not very obvious but that was the noise from earlier.
What do I do know? What else do I have to buy? I bought and ARTR and I have now put almost 200 more bucks into it and I really have had no run time with it. What do you suggest now? If I ever get approved to BST on this site I swear I would sell it tonight. Sorry guys I'm pissed. Thanks in advance.

Re: Little help with the T4.1
the truck probably has too much droop in the suspension which is allowing the the dogbones to fall out. add a limiter or two to the inside of the shocks.
and to your bst comment, if you sent me an email through ebay, i never got it.

Thanks scr8p, most of my babbling is just because I am mad at my truck. I wanna run the thing. Is a limiter a shock spacer? Sorry again for my not knowing this stuff, I'm learning . I did send the message through email, not sure what happened. I will do it again. Thanks man.

Re: Little help with the T4.1
ya, a spacer. the assortment trees like the ones rjspeed sells come in handy.
Re: Little help with the T4.1
The shock thing really does not make a difference, I am sure it does in many ways but the dog bones are still to short. I guess imwillmstick some fuel tubing in there and see if I can rig it to work. Sad, a brand new truck having to rig it.

Re: Little help with the T4.1
Think of it like "getting dialed in" and it sounds like you're close
You can also move the drive shafts inward by moving a shim or 2 from the outside of the hubs to the inside of the rear hubs which pushed the whole assembly on both sides closer to the outdrives and the bones less likely to pop out on you.
