Re: IS IT CHEATING
To quote "Scr8p the Great".... think of it this way, if you are restoring an antique or classic car, would you also consider that cheating? My answer, NO, it would be IMPOSSIBLE to restore pretty much anything down to every nut and bolt. Apples to apples comparison, RC vs. 1:1? IMHO, yes.
My dad has a '29 Model A he paid to have restoed. Original parts for that car are out of the question, they pretty much don't existent.
I have a '67 GT500..... yes, it would be possible, but it would cost me everything I own and take me lifetime to find all original parts. Heck I sold a restored original steering wheel a few years back for $5K.

Nah, don't take it that way at all. In the end, we all pretty much live in a free society...... do what makes you happy. If you have need for something that is impossible to find, go for it.
The last time we discussed it, it went round and round.... to be expected as we all our own opinions.

We're just busting your chops. As lex said, everyone has an opinion, but yours in the only one that counts. Build the vehicle any way you like, it's your car and your money.

They are toy cars.
There are no rules.
There are, however, crossbreeding of years and brands that might get you made fun of here.
But it's only done out of love.

Re: IS IT CHEATING
You know, I have a BRP chassis NIP that uses a RC10 front end with an Ultima rear end. I also think the RC-X2 or JR-10 is cool....... Cedric has one that I would like to take off his hands. Cedric, wanna sell?Eau Rouge wrote: however, crossbreeding of years and brands that might get you made fun of here.

And there is a lot to be said about the Scorcher 10's on this forum. Fantastic builds and much better than the Tamiya.
He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too.

Re: IS IT CHEATING
To me plastic is plastic and alum is alum so it doesn't matter what day it was made on as long as it was made the same way, by the same people, in the same machines... there isn't one of us here that could support any proof of it being a repro if all manf processes and materials are the same.
