A setup for my mutt

Post by Bft450 »

I built a mutt truck out of parts I had got in a parts lot I bought. Here are the parts I am using.
Rc10 gold pan b chassis and rear bulkhead with rear a-arm mounts
Rc10 gt plack pan rear a arms castor blocks driveshafts
Mystery black transmission
Rc10gt front clip and suspension shocks etc.
I think the the gt10 parts are from a team kit.
I am using the buggy rear shocks.
I plan on using a hobby wing 9 turn brushless setup in this.
Where is a good place to start on this for setup.
I want to race at the local track.

Forgive my ignorance on this stuff, I'm getting back into rc after giving up do to the expense and frustration of racing nitro monster trucks. Now with lipo batteries electric is very appealing. I got all these parts with a large lot I picked up off Craigslist with a nice old Goldpan that is complete and a ton of other stuff that I am selling on eBay.

I just ordered a set of gt wheels and tires.

Any Idea what bodies will fit?

I know you can get viper, protec bodies still, they also reman protec2's, and a couple more down where I am, in Ontario. That chassis looks 100% better after the clean up. So your making a truck out of it?

Yea I am building it into a truck so that wheels/ tires are readily available. So I would like a truck body for it.

I used a pro line body for a T4, had to modify the mounts though.. Your rear shock tower is for a rc10, might want to change it. tires and rims, even a reman 10t body, you'll have now problem getting.

Yeah, you have a buggy rear shock tower, if you want it to be a truck you need the truck rear shock tower. You won't need those aluminum wing mounts so you might as well take them out of the rear bulkhead. As for the body a T2 will work, you can get those from Associated #6132...

perfect, then you have made a gold pan 10t, to bad the parts aren't white, that'll look cool. 8) Should look nice.

Should I just look for rc10t setup sheets for a starting point?
Would you guys recomend using the rc10gt front tower or the old rc10t?

Going by the photo, I don't think that there is a difference between the two, there is a factory team tower that looks like that, but it's graphite.

Me too. My first thought was smoke damage. What was up with the chassis?
Question: why are you building a 10t when it came with so many buggy parts?
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.
