please tell me this is not a striped screw on the chassis? did you get the dremel to make the hex into a flat head and cut some slots into the chassis too? sorry not trying to be mean im really just trying to look out for you. i made the mistake when i was younger doing some butcher work on a rc10 world car and i still regret it till this day.. this car looks like a real nice full race car with no stock parts(i bet some collectors would love to have it) .. as for you not working on a pro rc car before maybe you should set this car aside and get something like a traxxas rustler or maybe even a old gold pan if you like the old stuff.. its like if you wanted to start working on cars id say start with a old mustang not a ferrari f40.. as i said before im not trying to be mean ive just been doing stuff like this for a long time and i just dont want someone make the same mistakes ive made.. wish i had rc10talk when i was younger maybe someone would talked me into puting my dads yz10 on the shelf instead of bashing it to deathchrisisacoolguy wrote:stripped screw had to dremel slot it to get it out. Major Bummer. tiny hex, totally stripped. As these parts are now non existent, I'm thinking this thing may just be done for. It's also lacking a couple bolts and servo mounts as the servo was taped to the chassis. A lot of rusted screws too. crud

Hey JK, do you do your own chassis painting or is that done by someone else?JK Racing wrote:Where you located? Nothing appears to be broken, I would just like it in running order as a father's day gift to my father. (PMs welcome)
I've been known to bring some back to runner statusIt would honestly be best for you to rebuild it, we all can give guidance and eyeball engineering as needed.

How much does it generally cost you to have such a thing done?JK Racing wrote:I had that one powder coated semi-gloss black. I have a couple others I need to get powder coated, but just havent had the motivation.

I was lucky and got away with only $40, but I have seen quote much higher. Take the parts into your local PC shop and show them, they should give you a quote. The more you take (couple chassis/nose plates/motor plates), it usually spreads the cost out and makes them cheaper overall.

update: set aside for other projects at the moment. And no, didn't dremel into the chassis, just enough of a notch in the the screw to be able to remove it with a flathead, I used extra caution, didn't want to damage the chassis
