1/12 SERVOS

Post by kaiser »

hey fellers, i'm getting ready to go 1/12 oval racing for the first time and i need a servo.

got any recomendations?
can anyone confirm what servo savers fit a spektrum h5020g?
are 1/12 servo spilnes the same size as 1/10 servos?

i'm confused and just need a damn servo! trying to research it makes my head hurt, so many opinions out there and not alot of fact.

thanks.

I've been bored at work this morning and just happened to read in another thread earlier where Mr. ED was saying that he uses a small park flyer servo in 1/12th to slow down the steering so it isn't so twitchy. Seems like a good idea. Not sure about the other part.

Got my first 1/12 RC12R5.1 for Christmas, and soon found out they don't take the regular sized servos. My local hobby shop said a Futaba 9650 will fit, which they ordered and I just need to pick it up.

Next I will need to find out what type of ESC will fit under the body, once they get that in.

I use a Savox SH1250MG in my 12th scales, nice little servo and half the price of the Futabas.

It's a quick servo though and as standard doesn't really suit me, but my radio can slow down the transit speed of servos, so i can slow it down for my aging thumbs

i have a 9650 on the way, but i really like those spektrums, i run a 6040 in my b4 and 10t and love it.

the 9650 will do i guess, it's got some crazy tabs on it though.

Guys at the shop said you can cut the tabs off that you don't need.

Hope my simple TowerHobbies radio will be able to work it well enough.
